*Lottie*
The school day dragged on forever, but it was finally over. As soon as the final bell rang, I bolted to my car. Unsurprisingly, Blair was already there. Her father had dropped her off today, so I was taking her home. We jumped in the car and started to her house. “I can’t wait to see what your wolf looks like. I bet she will be a golden hair goddess like you!” Blair started. I blushed at her compliment.
“I just can’t wait to meet her. Though I feel like it’s going to be strange being able to have a conversation with someone at every moment of every day,” I retorted. I was trying to focus on driving but I will admit, I was getting excited.
“Having a wolf is the best! She will be another part of you. It will feel natural, don’t be nervous,” Blair kept talking about her wolf. She went on but I was too busy thinking about my wolf and that intoxicating smell. I thought about mentioning it to Blair, but I was afraid I would sound crazy or she would make too big of a deal out of it.
Five minutes later we are pulling up to her driveway. She leans over to give me a hug. “I will be at your place just before sunset,” as she starts climbing out of the can, “I can’t wait! Byeee.” She bellows as she runs up to her house.
I laughed, pulling away from her house and headed to the pack house. Only the Alpha and Beta’s families live there. Other than that, all unmated wolves live at the connecting apartments until they find their mate.
I pull in and bound inside to find my parents waiting. “Happy Birthday Charlotte,” they both yell and pull me into a hug. I laugh and thank them. “We are going to have an early dinner before your shift and then we can all go for a run once you are a full wolf.” I hated when they called unshifted wolves ‘half wolves.’ I am still a full wolf, I just have not reached the age. I roll my eyes and head to my room to get ready for tonight.
I lay down to take a power nap, since shifting is supposed to take a lot of energy. As I lay there, I can’t help thinking about the smell in school. Cinnamon and dark chocolate, yum. I hear a rumble in the back of my mind. It spooks me at first, but I realize it is probably my wolf starting to wake up. I huff out a nervous laugh and flip over to get some shut eye.

Today dragged on. I couldn’t keep my mind from drifting to Lottie. She looked exquisite. I was only thinking of one thing, marking her and making her all mine. Today in the hall, I saw a lot of unmated wolves looking at her. She did not even seem to notice.
All of the sudden my door slammed open and my father walked in. “Hello Aaron, how was your first day back at class?” he questions without really looking at me. “I didn’t end up going. I had too much to focus on here for the pack,” I gruffly responded. “Aaron,” he sighs, “I think it’s important for you to finish there. It will earn your respect with the generation you will be in power over.”
“I will be sure to go tomorrow, Dad. Today I just had too much going on.” If I mention something is for the pack, he usually lets up on the whole disappointment angle.
“Okay son, well I came in to tell you to be in the pack backyard by sunset.”
My ears perk up at this. “Why?” I respond, trying to keep my tone even.
“Well my Beta’s daughter is shifting today and I would like our family to be there for support. It’s a sign of good faith. You will need to do this one day for your Beta’s family too.
“No worries, I have a couple more things here to sort out and then I will head down. Sunset should be in about an hour.”
“Good, good. I will let you get back to it then. Also, no skipping classes tomorrow,” my dad says as he heads out.
“Yes, Alpha,” I mutter as he closes the door. I roll my eyes. I will definitely be at school tomorrow. I will be keeping an eye on Lottie since she is going to be my future Luna.
The next hour drags on, but I finally look at my watch and realize it’s time. My wolf starts jumping around, and I can feel him fighting, wanting to take control.
“I can’t wait to see her wolf. I bet she will be breathtaking.” I laugh at my big bad wolf. He has become a total softy in just a short few hours. Normally, he doesn’t even bat an eye at any shewolf and now he is practically drooling at just the thought of Lottie and her wolf.
I make it down stairs to see that the Beta's family and mine are already down there. The only one missing is the star of the show, Lottie.
Right on cue she appears at the bottom of the stairs. I freeze and stare at her. She is breathtaking. She is wearing a white dress and barefoot. Her blonde hair and tan skin shines and she looks angelic.
She freezes when she sees me. I see her slightly lift her nose and sniff. She can smell me. She probably does not realize I am her mate, but as soon as she shifts, her wolf will let her know. For now, she just keeps shooting me puzzled looks. I laugh to myself at her confusion. It’s adorable. She keeps scrunching up her button and nose and it makes my heart soar. Hercules is panting and running laps in my head. He is itching to meet her wolf and make her his.
