Chapter 2: The Transfer

-5 Years Later-

“The kids are training well I see” Charles stated, “They are.” William replied. “How are you faring with everything going on?” Charles asked “Well, let’s see, it’s about time, the children are 5 years old, they have been training since they learned how to walk. And well my daughter has been doing very well in training while my son has been bruised but not healing as well. Just as the elders said. They were right about that part.” William explains with a heavy sigh. “Well, if your twins are the Gemini twins, then the pack is lucky to have them both. I and Elaine have been doing our research with Kate, Jacob, and Henry. The elders weren’t joking when they said that not a lot is known about Gemini wolves.” Charles said, “What did you find?” William asked. “Well on their 15th, which I think would be the next time we meet the elders, a lot of the second prophecy would be clearer.” Charles explained. “In the books we’ve read so far most of the twins were discovered at the age of 15. Their first set of powers start to show. We wouldn’t really know if they are the twins in the prophecy until then. Nightwind, Alpha King and the Blood Moon have had the twins and their pack, they were the ones with the alpha, gamma, and delta twins. The Southern Pack and Winter Moon both have had warriors and zetas as twins. For those belonging to lower ranks, the powers showed later than that of those from higher ranks.” Charles added. “Are there any recollections from the wolfen accord and council about the statistics on twin births over the last 500 years?” William asked. “Well, I was just getting to that. The five pack I just mentioned, have had twins born into their packs at all ranks. Of the 300 packs registered in the councils’ records, there are only 5 packs that have had no twins in their registry for the past 500 years. But of that 5 only 3 packs registered the birth of twins, that one of that three is our pack. Of the 3 packs, only crescent moon registered in the 2000’s the rest of them were much later.” Charles explained. “Is there anything that mentioned the death of the last pair of twins?” William asked, “The last pair of twins were alpha twins, Alpha Logan, you remember him right?” Charles asked “Alpha Logan, Nightwind’s Alpha? Wait he was a twin?” William asked with shock written all over his face. “Yep, he was, and he has a twin sister. She was a seer. Logan was older than her” Charles added “You said has, is she still alive?” William asked, “How old was logan again?” he continued “Well records say he was 200 when he died, and as for his sister, she’s still alive and part of the wolfen council of elders. She is the head. The pack elders might have alerted her.” Charles answered “Might” William merely said.

The kids were training, hard, Stephanie seemed to be dominating in a fight at fight, managing as well as his older brother Ethan, who by now is an 8-year-old beta in training. “Stephanie seems to be getting along just fine with Andre and his crew” Luna Elaine stated “It’s seeming so, William worries. He has been training both of them so well, but it’s becoming clearer by day, Stephanie is the dominant twin, she’s stronger faster, fiercer.” Kate replied. “She’s almost as strong as an alpha Kate, she beat Ethan 3 times today.” Luna Elaine mentioned “She’s strong enough to be a Luna of the pack” she added. “Right, which worries me, if one might become a Luna, what would happen to the other?” Kate asked “Well, we’d find out soon enough.” Luna Elaine replied. “Elaine, Kate, its time, the elders are here. Jacob and Henry will continue training the pups.”

All four of them went to greet the elders, with one other person, who they don’t recognize. “Alpha Charles, Luna Elaine, Beta William, Kate, good day.” Gabriel greeted “Gabriel, Elders. Please come” Charles gestured to the pack house conference room. All four of them and the 5 elders went and followed. Arriving to the conference room, a sound proofed room with a security lock from the outside. One of the guards stationed outside opened the door. The room was clean, white and elegant. The table stood out as it was made from Nara wood in the shape of an oval with a set of black velvet lined chairs.

“Alpha Charles, Luna Elaine, this is Elizabeth, Alpha Logan’s Sister.” Gabriel introduced. The she-wolf bowed her head. William let out a small gasp. “You were right Gabriel; they are the twins. I have checked all 3 twins born from the three packs who have reported the birth of twins after a barren 500 years. I can sense the same power in them that I did with Logan and me. His power merged with mine after he died. But with the birth of the new set, I may now rest easily.” Elizabeth stated. “Merge? Forgive me, but what does that mean?” William asked.

“Well beta, the elder twin who identified me and my brother, Stephen, was a seer, just like me. He explained the merge to my parents just like how I will to you now. Every Gemini twin, one will become and alpha or a Luna, and the other will become a seer. That has always been the case. Gemini twins are always a boy and a girl with two very different personalities. When born during the months of the Gemini or even close to it, are the strongest twins. Logan and I were born on May 21st, the first day of the Gemini months. Your children were born in March, but that’s the closest the twins have ever had to the Gemini months. Majority of the twins are born in the winter, yours is the first to be born in the spring. If this means anything I do not know yet. But what I do know is the merge. Both twins will live long enough, longer than their mates in fact. Wolves can live until over 100 but none have over lived over 150, but Gemini’s will. The twins before us lived until 190, and the ones before lived 150 and 187 respectively. It is said that the twins will merge, leaving one with the powers of the other. No ritual is done as both twins are strong on their own. The merge happens naturally through the death of one from natural causes. If anything happens due to murder, the remaining twin will lose the power and the cycle will begin anew. Logan’s power is merged with mine the moment he passed. I am almost close to immortal. But by the time your children turn 15 betas, I will pass away and your children will inherit the powers of the Gemini. I know who inherits which but, this is something I cannot tell anyone, even the elders of the council. All must come in its natural order. Your children are strong. The prophecy is something that I have not been made aware of until recently. I do know what happens. But as I said. All must come in its natural order.” Elizabeth explained.

“Alpha, Beta, we must take their education and training seriously.” Samuel urged. “Now, Samuel, the crescent moon pack is doing better than my parents have done with both me and Logan. He has made it into a competition which would have clouded one of our judgments, thank the goddess none of us did. Let the children enjoy their childhood. Make sure their bond is strong and unbreakable. They will come to rely on one another. Their training, yes, it is important. They. Must learn to protect themselves and the packs. I will not be able to train the next seer I’m afraid, but I will leave the books of the Gemini with you. On their 18th, you will know which one is which. The books will guide them on their journey.” Elizabeth continued. “Of course.” Samuel bowed his head slightly.

“Is there something else that we must know great elder?” Charles asked. “Ah yes, thank you for the reminder. They must train until the full moon reaches its peak on the eve of the day before their 15th birthday. 12:00 am on the 23rd of March, the transfer will be complete. My passing will be set. That is the only thing you must know. That is the only thing that is important. They must train until the clock strikes 12:00 am on the 23rd. They must rest on the 23rd. They will need it. The wolf born to defend will be silver, as it has always been. The wolf born with the gift of foresight, their colors change. I was a golden yellow, and the one before me was a pure fawn wolf. Your child will be a black wolf.” Elizabeth explained. “Thank you for this, great elder.” William stated. “You are forever welcome” Elizabeth replied then handing the books to him. “We must take our leave now, Alpha, Beta. The Elder Council will meet soon to discuss the protection of your pack until your children turn 18. The safety of the twins must be our priority. Whispers have already begun to spread of the power that your twins would hold. There will be those who wish to take them for themselves. We will do our part, and I know you will do yours.” Elizabeth said then bowed. The rest of the elders followed.

“Well, we now know the twins will outlive us. Let’s just hope no i***t tries to harm them” William said. “Agreed” Charles said.

The children are now 14 years old, it's currently March 22, and for the past 8 years, the twins have been training diligently and hard. Their father has been training them. Today is not any different.
