Adija's Pov I gulped, desperately trying to think of what to do at that moment. I silently prayed to any god that might be listening, hoping for some kind of answer. How exactly am I supposed to escape from these two brothers with my life intact? “We will personally inform Lycan Remus that the Alpha sent for her. You can leave…” one of the guards spoke, and the maid nodded, preparing to go. But just then, I said, “Wait a minute…” Everyone's attention turned to me the second I blurted out those words without thinking, as if they were all waiting to hear what I would say next. I immediately shrank under their piercing stares, my mind spinning with questions as I nervously bit down on my lower lip. I opened my mouth to speak, anything to get myself out of the situation, but before I could, one of the guards who had come with the Alpha's orders spoke up again. “The Alpha calls for you both. He has urgent matters to attend to and said the lady can stay behind. He will summon her later.” The guards immediately nodded and walked away. Relief washed over me, and I truly believed for a moment that my prayers had been answered. I was grateful to whatever god had listened and pulled me out of that situation. But the battle wasn’t over yet—now I had to face Lycan Remus. My mind raced with frantic thoughts. What is he going to do to me this time? “Since the Alpha no longer needs your presence, may I lead you to Lycan Remus?” the maid asked, pulling me from my spiraling thoughts. I forced a smile, nodding as I followed her out of the room. We walked for what felt like minutes, passing through the castle walls, past the horse stables, and toward a small house hidden at the back of the castle. When we reached the front of the house, the maid gestured for me to go inside. I looked at her, my eyes filled with questions I couldn’t voice. She smiled gently and said, “It’s going to be fine, my lady. The Lycan awaits you.” With that, she turned and walked away, leaving me to face what was inside. I swallowed hard and stepped into the small house. Inside, I found Lycan Remus seated on a chair, his full attention focused on sharpening his sword. The room was filled with various weapons—swords of all kinds and spears mounted along the walls. Other than the weapons and the lone table in the center, there was nothing remarkable about the room. My mind raced with anxious thoughts. What if his intention was to kill me right here? But then again, why would he? I had done nothing wrong to him. “You are rather late, aren’t you?” he said, still fixated on his sword. I managed a small, nervous smile and replied, “My bad. I had a few things to deal with, but at least I am here, Lycan.” He stopped sharpening his sword abruptly, slowly lifting his gaze to meet mine. His eyes darkened, locking onto me with an intensity that made my breath hitch. Tilting his head slightly, he spoke in a low, controlled voice, “I believe I made myself clear just yesterday, Adija. When I send for you, you come immediately, no matter what you are doing.” He placed the sword down and stood up. His entire presence was dark and commanding, leaving me no choice but to recoil in fear. Yet, even while recoiling, I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by him. Everything about him screamed perfection. I remained rooted in place as he closed the distance between us. I craned my neck, trying to hold his gaze, my heart pounding wildly. His jaw tightened as he studied me, his eyes roaming over every inch of my body before finally meeting my eyes again. Then, he said something that completely shook me. “You look as though you have never been touched by a man…” He tilted his head again, his voice filled with arrogance as he continued, “How selfish of my brother. I have no doubt he is saving you for when he is ready to ravish you, but we can’t let him have the first taste, can we?” His tone was filled with a seductive edge, leaving me confused and unsettled, unable to grasp what he truly meant. “What do you mean?” I asked, curiosity overpowering me. He didn’t respond, and I stared into his eyes, waiting for any kind of answer he was willing to give. But his next move shocked me to the core. Suddenly, without warning, he spun me around and bent me over the table, my body hitting the hard surface with a thud that made me let out a small groan. I tried to stand up immediately, but his hand pinned me down as he growled, “Stay.” For some reason I couldn’t explain, I obeyed. Maybe it was curiosity—maybe I wanted to see where this was heading. Then, I started getting my answer as I felt his hand glide slowly up my thighs. I gulped under his touch. It was firm but surprisingly gentle, stirring something strange within me. It wasn’t disgust, that much I knew—it was the same sensation I had when Alpha Zarek kissed me yesterday. What is wrong with me? When did I become this way, feeling desire for both brothers? Even though I knew I was throwing all my morals aside, a growing desperation still seized me. I needed to know where this was going to lead. I needed to know what Lycan Remus had planned for me.
