Welcome Home Wayward Daughter

Poor Haylee was exhausted and traumatized from the whole ordeal. She swore to the moon and back that she didn’t mean any of the things she said and that she loved us both. Annie and I promised her multiple times that everything was ok and we would explain it all after the ceremony. Beta Markus had to carry her out in a teary apologetic mess. On his way out, Annie told him about a tea recipe that would help her recover enough to be part of the bonding ceremony. It was a recipe we’d used many times in the past that worked wonders. He agreed to have one of the kitchen staff prepare it as soon as possible. Alpha Kingsley stayed behind so we could discuss the matter a little more in depth. “So that was the Bane of Galliard? I have to say I had my doubts when you girls first told me about them, but seeing it with my own eyes so to speak, I’m a firm believer now,” he said as he shook his head. In order to provide less of an explanation after everything was over I’d opened the link to both of them so they could see it for themselves. In doing so I exposed a power I’d been hiding since we arrived. They both knew I could access someone’s mind with Annie’s help, but they had no idea I could link other’s in, similar to a three-way phone call. To say their minds were blown was an understatement and there was still one other power I would have to alert them to since I heard that eerie message. “Alpha Kingsley, as I’m sure you’re now aware, there are a few powers that I have that I haven’t told you about,” I admitted. “I figured as much. No one comes from a pack as old as yours and spills all their secrets. I expected you to withhold quite a few things,” he replied. “I know we’re short on time with this whole banishing of Galliard, but I want you to do something for me.” “Okay.” “Send a message to Annie through the pack link.” He gave me a sideways glance but followed my instructions. My senses honed in on his voice and I joined in on a mundane conversation about the weather before I cut the transmission. I received an odd look from him before I felt him make another link attempt. I cut that one too and the rest that he attempted to send out. His eyes widened and then he let out a hearty laugh that took me by surprise. “Well I’ll be, I’d only ever heard stories told of this ability. Myths really. Do you know what they call that power?” he asked. “No, I was never taught much about the power. There wasn’t…. Time,” I replied. “I’m sorry. From what I’ve heard you are what’s called a telepath-manipulator. It’s an Alpha female only ability, meant to connect different packs. In essence you’re an operator. If you train and hone this ability you could one day be able to connect all packs across the continent. Be careful who else you share this information with, since you are only an Alpha in blood it could be used against you.” A sigh of relief escaped me. I had worried about this for years and with a simple incident that required me to expose myself, he’d said everything I needed to hear that offered me comfort. I felt like a complete asshole for being so secretive and suspicious of him and this pack for the last twelve years. This man had always treated us with kindness, like we were his children and all I did was keep them at arm’s length and treat them like strangers. Annie had tried to convince me years ago to give them a chance, but I couldn’t bring myself to trust them fully.  Not even after I fell in love with Casey. Not to say I didn’t share my knowledge with them. To ensure me and Annie’s safety I gave them as much information as possible that would benefit the wellbeing of the pack. That would end today. Today I would become a member of their pack, an Evermoon wolf and in the future their Alpha. I had to start giving them my full trust if I wanted to lead this pack confidently when the time came. So I took a step I’d been holding back on. “Alpha Kingsley, on this day your son and I will be bonded as was decided in our youth. I want to take this time to ask you to forgive this wayward daughter that I am and accept me as the mate chosen for you son,” I said as I bowed low showing my submission to his authority, something I’d never done before. “There is no forgiveness needed because you are a wayward daughter who is choosing to come home. Be good to my son and give him the strength he needs to guide this pack when the time comes. I accept you as my son’s mate and welcome you home,” he replied, his voice cracking with emotion.
