CHAPTER XIV

BRIAN

When Amara arrived at the room, a small ounce of happiness and hope jolted me up to my seat and call her name. That was until this KYLE also got in my way. I really didn’t f*****g care about anyone in the room at the moment, all I wanted was Amara. It really did hurt when I rejected her, again, it was so stupid of me to do that, all I wanted to do at that time was to let Amara have a better life, not having to deal with all the drama that the she-wolves I slept with could do to her back at Darkmoon.

After that fiasco that happened at the party, I knew that the little stunt I just did, I was going to be in a sticky situation. I couldn’t stand the sight of my mate in the hands of another, so I had to do it and let my presence be known, and that Amara belonged to me. She ended up fainting with what’s happening and now we’re here contacted by Alpha Liam, her father, to clear up this mess, well it wouldn’t be if only Amara hadn’t accepted my rejection without question.

 “Alpha pray tell why in Goddess’s name compelled you to reject my sister?” Nikolai, Amara’s brother now looked at me with anger in his eyes, same as the other Alpha’s that were in the room but one, in particular, was staring at me right into my soul, it was Kyle.

I looked at Thomas and he gave me a nod before I took a deep breath inhaling my sweet Amara’s scent and answered.

“I slept a lot back at Darkmoon.” I look at Amara, seeing her chocolate eyes meet mine just made my heart melt and broken at the same time. “All I wanted for Amara was for her to be free from any drama or conflict that may happen with the she-wolves I.. interacted with.” I now look to Alpha Liam and everyone.

“f*****g stupid..” I heard Kyle say I just gave him a snob and a low growl as I heard the others comment.

“That’s just an unpleasant reason to reject my daughter, why didn’t you save yourself for your mate?” Alpha Liam says.

“What a shame…” I heard Alpha James utter.

“You could have just explained it to her rather than reject her with no context.” Nikolai’s Beta added. The Luna’s were just as astounded to hear my remark on the matter.

 “I agree with everyone here, Alpha Brian’s reason for rejecting Amara is just…..narrow,” Nikolai said with judgment in his eyes as he sat down looked at me and then at Amara. I get a feeling that her brother is going to beat me up or it’s just my imagination.

I look back to Amara and I could see the disappointment written on her face as soon as she heard my statement. Seeing her like that just pulled a trigger within me, after a long while I could now feel my wolf Alex tensing up. I didn’t care what the others thought about my reason, I didn’t care if I was going to hell with what I’m about to do, f**k everyone, f**k the Goddess. As everybody was too busy talking about my nonsense of a reason, I quickly stood up from my chair and walked my way around the table, went to Amara grabbed her away from the chair, cupped her cheeks by surprise, and attempted to kiss her.

“Amara come back to me…” I now look at her as I slowly closed my eyes leaning in for a kiss, she was holding me back but I didn’t budge, I didn’t let go of my grip, I wasn’t going to let her go this time.

I already felt her breath so close to mine when in a split second, I suddenly got hit by a strong blunt force almost making me fall onto the floor, I held on to a chair to balance myself. My ears were ringing, I closed my eyes as I winced in pain touching my left cheek.

“GET YOUR f*****g HANDS OFF MY f*****g MATE YOU MUTT!” A voice boomed in the room, it was none other than Kyle. I got so f*****g pissed when Alex finally came around to surface.

“SHE DOESN'T BELONG TO YOU!” I snapped and growled at Kyle, I was going to give him a taste of my fists when Thomas held me back. “Brian!  F-f**k get a h-hold of yourself!” he said trying to contain me with all his might.

“From what I have heard here, you rejected her, you stupid f**k! She doesn’t belong to you! SHE’S MINE! You had your chance and you blew it!”

 “KYLE! MAN! CONTROL YOURSELF!” Kyle’s Beta was also struggling to hold him, while our pitch-black eyes were locked on each other. Everyone was already in shock at what happened but I was occupied trying to rip my opponent’s face off.

“Amara get back!” I heard Nikolai cover Amara as a brawl was about to happen.

“ALPHA BRIAN! ALPHA KYLE! STAND DOWN! YOU’RE IN MY PACK GROUNDS! OR I MAY HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF TO CONTAIN AND TREAT THE BOTH OF YOU LIKE PRISONERS!” Alpha Liam’s voice shook the whole room.

KYLE

I thought that I had the most wonderful night of my life now that I finally met my mate and I couldn’t wait to tell the world that I belong to her now. Everything was doing so well when Alpha Brian decided to show up and claim that Amara was his mate. The issue ended up with Amara fainting at the party, surely people are going to talk about this but I couldn’t care less, what’s important is that my Angel is in good hands.

Carrying her to her room last night filled my heart with worry as I felt my fragile Angel’s body on my arms. Goddess, I just met my soulmate and I couldn’t even get to spend more time to be with her, I laid her down on her bed as she slept so peacefully. As much as I wanted to stay with her, I needed to go back to my pack to settle down everything.

I took one last look at my Angel and let out a sigh, she was so vulnerable, how can she be so beautiful just by sleeping? It's as if nothing just happened earlier. I fixed her hair once more and left a kiss on her temple before I left.

Her father, Alpha Liam, was so distraught about the little fiasco that happened at the party, that earlier today, he called us to come to Yellow moon to discuss and clarify the situation. Now, here I am just a few feet away from my mate and this BRIAN that claims he had her first. I didn’t believe any of the bullshit he was saying but right when Angel confirmed that it was true, my heart sank. I never thought that I was to become a second chance mate, but I was determined that I would make her feel more loved and appreciated rather than that sorry excuse of a mutt who rejected her.

I was already having an internal battle with my wolf about whether or not I should claw his face out or maul him to death, when I suddenly saw him stand up from his seat and went to Amara and leaned in for a kiss. My Angel was already pushing him back but he didn’t move and still continued.

“KILL HIM!” I felt Kato surface, and in a second, I charged at him and made sure to hit right in the face enough where he can hear microphones ringing. If that wasn’t painful enough to make him lay his hand off of my Angel, then he’s in for a fight.

“GET YOUR f*****g HANDS OFF MY f*****g MATE YOU MUTT!” I hissed and snapped right at him causing everyone in the room to panic.

“SHE DOSEN’T BELONG TO YOU!” He replied, this mutt doesn’t really know when to stand down.

“From what I have heard here, you rejected her, you stupid f**k! She doesn’t belong to you! SHE’S MINE! You had your chance and you blew it!” I swore I heard Kean trying to talk to me and doing his best to hold me back from Brian but I was too busy trying to get away from his hold and take the pleasure of ripping Brian’s head off. Both of us had our wolves locked on their target. More snapping and growling continued in the room when Alpha Liam finally put an end to it.

“ALPHA BRIAN! ALPHA KYLE! STAND DOWN! YOU’RE IN MY PACK GROUNDS! OR I MAY HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF TO CONTAIN AND TREAT THE BOTH OF YOU LIKE PRISONERS!” He used his Alpha voice this time and even though that I could just defy his orders, out of respect for him, I chose to submit. Brian eventually submitted and went back to his seat still staring daggers at me and I the same.

My parents weren’t too happy about what I did, it wasn’t what an Alpha would act but I had to do it, I had to make it clear that Amara already belonged to me and not with this stupid excuse of a mutt who proudly calls himself an Alpha when he can’t really accept his own rejection f*****g t**t.

I was so angry when I suddenly caught a glimpse of my Angel standing with Luna Martine with shock on her face. She saw the protective side of me, I lashed out in front of her and her family.

“Angel…” I was about to go to her when her brother blocked me.

“Alpha, with all due respect, not now.” As much as I wanted to go to her and apologize for the way I acted. He was right, I had to wait until this issue was to be settled down. I went back to my seat fixing myself on the way.

“Liam, I apologize for what my son just did.” My father told Alpha Liam.

“It’s alright James, I understand given the situation happening here, I think you and I can understand why your son and Alpha Brain are acting like this is because of their instinct to claim their mate which happens to be my daughter.” He nodded at my father before speaking again.

“Now, to avoid going around in circles with this issue. I address the problem one more time. Amara, you were mated to Alpha Brian but unfortunately, he chose to reject you and you accepted it which made you an unmated wolf again. Now, you met Alpha Kyle at his party in Silverhide and found out that he was your second chance mate and you accepted.” Alpha Liam stated at he once more clarified the problem.

“In this case, there is really no need for this to go any further since we all know what happens with rejecting a mate. "Alpha Kyle...” He said while looking at me “It’s pretty clear that you are my daughter’s rightful mate since she chose to accept you as hers on your encounter at your party.”

A sigh of relief left my lungs, although I already knew that, it felt really good coming from her father to finally clarify things with this nut head, Brian. Everybody in the room agreed to what Alpha Liam just said and I could finally spend more time with my mate. I looked at her once more and what was once shock that planted on her face, a smile now formed confirming that she was happy with all that’s happened.

“I, Alpha Brian of Darkmoon hereby challenge, Alpha Kyle of Silverhide for the right to mate Amara Layla Smith.” What the f**k?
