Chapter One

Ava I ran without looking back, I just hope that don't get caught this time at least if I can get past the gate and cross the bridge he won't find me this time and maybe just maybe I could be free from him and live a happy and free life. The gate was still far ahead I pulled my cloak on tight and pretended to be one of the guards as I approached the gate setting to leave the Castle a voice called "You what are you doing" he called out. I recognised that voice immediately he was the guard that served us food back at the dungeon. "okay this is it" I assured myself. "Master ordered me to get something from the Neighboring village" I answered my voice unfaltering as I spoke with confidence. "and what could that be" he countered, "I don't think I can tell you it's pretty confidential" I answered almost immediately, "of course you can tell me I am the third in command" he whisper yelled " You dare defy Master's order" I challenged with a smirk to bad he couldn't see the look on my face. "No why would I defy Master's order" he said nervously, "you know what leave now, I don't want you to keep Master waiting would I?" he continued while smirking at me "but you should take off your cloak at least before you go" he said. "oh s**t what do I do" I asked myself silently, "do I run no I can't run I would be caught immediately" as I thought of what to do a servant approached us, he bowed before speaking "Sir the commander awaits your presence" he said while looking down at his feet, "on my way" the guard replied as the servant scurried away, He turned to me me "you can go, open the gates" he directed to the other guards, "finally he fell for it" I thought to myself while doing a victory dance in my head. I was about leaving when I heard the guard call me back "wait" he said, and for a moment I thought I have been caught, perhaps he figured I was one of the prisoners who had escaped the dungeons again. "won't you need an horse" he said with a look I couldn't decipher. oh no was this a trick, was I supposed to fall for this but I had to accept there was no time left if I didn't want to be caught. "there wouldn't be any need" I declined politely before glancing back at the castle and leaving, and so I ran, I ran without looking back without thinking of where to go as I ran aimlessly until I was tired.
