Leah asked her friend, concern still lacing her voice.
Nicole gave her a faint smile, wiping away tears as she nodded. She’d been crying for a while now, ever since she started talking about the secret her relatives had been hiding from her.
“Take care of my girl, Mr. CEO, alright? She’s been through hell—so please, don’t do anything that’ll hurt her more,”
Leah added firmly, shooting a pointed look at Alexander, who simply nodded in reply.
“I’ll be okay, Leah. Thank you so much for everything,”
Nicole said sincerely, managing a real smile this time. She stood up to walk Leah out. Her friend pulled her in for a tight hug before heading to her car.
