53 - 53 - “You need to warn Kharem,” Aleph said after Miolar told her. Her fingers blurred. “Not getting through the system, though.” Miolar nodded. He let out a long sigh. “I’m not as young as I was, but…” He frowned. “He’s in his operations room, yes? Is the door unlocked?” “Hang on.” Aleph tapped, pulled the data onto a new screen. “Can see it. Means I should be able to unseal it.” “You’re not certain?” She faced him, and scowled. “I’ll do the best I can. Can’t ask for more than that.” “Understood.” “You got a weapon?” “Always.” He rose, patting a bulge on his right hip. “Thank you.” “Sure.” She tapped to open her own door, started work on the door to Kharem’s operations room.
