55 - 55 - The sounds of the fighting raged on, and the bunker shook repeatedly. Daventree heard shouts from afar, but there was no way of knowing if they were in anger or pain or something else. He had the nozzle wedged in the open door now, and turned his attention to the control podium. There was a screen inlaid in the top, but it didn’t respond to his touch, and he could find no other way to wake it. There was definitely some power in the building—the light eking down from the ceiling told him that much—but Daventree suspected only certain circuits had been activated. He returned to the section of the room behind the glass, and peered in the hole left by the removed metal plate. It was impossible to see anything, of course, but as he pulled he felt the next plate down shift back
