21 - 21 - Cat could have forced the door, but needed Rodin calm. He needed the old mercenary thinking straight. When he pressed the door screen, Rodin told him to come up. It wasn’t exactly an invite, more an acceptance of the inevitable, like he’d been waiting for Cat to appear. The door off the third-floor hallway was unlocked, and when he stepped inside the squalid room Cat was careful to seal it behind him. He also surreptitiously ran a tracer routine on his screen. He doubted Rodin would have any Eyes or other devices in play, but it always paid to double-check. There was a message from Kharem, and Cat swiped to store it for later.
