Where Are You?

Aeko's POV 

Me: If you won't eat for your sake then eat for your mom's sake. I'm sure she would want you to eat it since it was made by yours truly. 

Ethan: Thanks Aeko, you really are my best friend 

Aeko: Anything to keep my Ethy happy 

Ethan: Ethy? Really? 

Aeko: If you can't beat them, join them 

Ethan: In that case I'm going to call you Pearl 

Me: Why Pearl? 

Ethan: You are as beautiful as one

Aeko: Cheesy much

Ethan: I blame your Mac and Cheese 

Me: You!!! 

Ethan: I love you too

Me: Imma tell Jayden 

Ethan: You such a cry baby 

Me: I am not!! 

I storm out of the room and go to mine. I get a call from Jayden and I press decline. He calls again then I just put my phone on flight mode. I switch of the side lamp as an attempt to go to sleep. Just as I'm about to dose off, Ethan enters my room. I growl then cover my face with the blanket. 

Ethan: Jayden says you not picking up his calls

Me: So? 

Ethan: He wants to know why

Me: Get out

Ethan: What? 

Me: I said get out

Ethan: Pearlie what's wrong 

Me: You two called me a cry baby

Jayden: That's what you made about

Ethan: Dude don't add fuel to the fire

Jayden: Baby sis we're sorry. We were just playing with you. You know we like pushing your buttons 

Me: I'm not a cry baby

Ethan: Yes you not. You our little helper right? Now stop being grumpy and go to sleep 

Me: Fine. Goodnight guys and I love y'ull 

Them: We love you too

Jayden: I'll call you guys tomorrow then

Ethan: Till then 

He drops the call then kisses my forehead. He closes the door and I go to sleep. I get woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of thunder. I scream then run to Ethan's room. How can he sleep so peacefully with this noise? I shake him awake then he brushes me off and turns to the side. I get on his bed and start jumping whilst chanting wake up, wake up. After a few jumbs he pushes me and I fall off the bed. 

Me: Ethan!! Why'd you push me off the bed?! 

Ethan: You wouldn't stop jumping 

I try to get up but my ankle hurts too much. I let out a soft ouch then scream louder then the thunder goes at it again. I cover my ears, close my eyes then start rocking back and forth. I feel someone lift me and place me on a bed. 

Ethan: You can open your eyes now 

Me: I'm scared of thunder

Ethan: Sleep with me then. I'll keep you safe

I get under the covers and Ethan gets on his side of the bed. He pulls me close then wraps his arms around my waist. Immediately I feel warmer, safer and at comfort. We both drift off to sleep after a while. Today is our first day at school and I don't want to be late. Ethan is still in the shower and I'm packing our bags. I head to the kitchen and make our lunch. As I close the bags Ethan comes to have his breakfast quickly. After he's done we head out and walk to school. I won't lie, I was feeling nervous going to a new school 

Ethan: Hey don't be nervous, I'm going to be with you the whole way 

Me: I know. That's why I'm not freaking out 

Ethan: Hopefully we have the same classes

Me: We most likely will since we studying the same thing

Ethan: Again I ask, why law? 

Me: Again I say, I love it

We finally reach the school and I take a deep breath. We head to the reception area to get our schedules and luckily we have both our classes together. Our first class was in ten minutes so we started walking to it whilst making small talk. The lesson ended faster than expected. I was enjoying it so much yet Ethan kept dosing off to sleep. During lunch time we sit by a table just outside the campus building. There's so many people at this school it's hard to say who's who. The rest of the day was just the same as earlier and before I knew it, we were heading back to our flat. 

The moment to reach the apartment, Ethan goes to take a shower and I get started on dinner. I decided to make pap, gravy and chicken breasts. Once Ethan was done with his shower I take leave and go take a soothing bubble bath. My first day at varsity wasn't so bad but I know I still need to focus on my studies. After my bath, I dry up, lotion and put on my pj's. I head back to the kitchen and dish up our dinner. I take both our plates and head to the living room since Ethan was watching TV. I give him his food and we eat while watching Bones. For some reason we have this love for criminal and detective series. After dinner we head to sleep. 

I wake up the next morning and do my daily routine. After showering I go look for Ethan in his room but he's not there. I look for him in the kitchen, living room and the bathroom but he wasn't there. I take my phone and call him six times but he doesn't pick up. 

Me: Ethan where the hell are you? You can't leave me like this

I look at the time and I was gonna be late for my class. I grab my bag and head out. While walking to school I keep trying to reach Ethan but every time I'm sent straight to voicemail. I eventually reach the school campus so I decided to switch my hind off. I quickly run to class and I make it just in time. I take my usual seat and I felt lonely with Ethan's seat being empty. I thought he was gonna be with me every day. After class I head to the cafeteria and get myself a burger to eat. I go to our old spot and eat my lunch. Then just randomly a girl comes and sits across me. I look at her looking at me with a smile on her face and then I just get back to me eating. 

Girl: Hey my name is Bella. I noticed we in the same class 

Me: Hi

Bella: Well I noticed that we both got ditched today so I was just wondering if you wanted to hang out

Me: Why? 

Bella: Look you don't have to if you don't want to, I didn't mean to intrude. 

She then gets up. 

Bella: I'll be out of your hair now

Me: No, wait, sit. Sorry I've just been stressed the whole day, didn't mean to be rude 

Bella: It's ok, I know I must have been a bit too comfortable 

Me: I think you very confident about yourself. You said you'd name is Bella right? 

Bella: Yeah, Bella Crossman. You must be...? 

Me: Aeko, Aeko Ryan

Bella: A pleasure to make your acquaintance 

Me: The pleasure is all mine dearly

We then laugh at each other and kept making small talk. So she's from a rich-ish family in Joburg but she wanted to get away so she came here. She's 19 and lives with her best friend Jessica. I told her a little about myself too but I didn't go into detail about anything bad. After lunch we head our separate ways but agreed to meet up tomorrow. After all my classes were done for the day I decide to head home and order take out for dinner. I reach our apartment and tried calling Ethan again, still getting sent straight to voicemail. 

My take out finally arrives, Chinese rice and stew. I head to the living room and watch a movie with my food. After I'm done I clean up my waste then head to shower. I couldn't stop thinking about where Ethan could be and why did he leave me with no explanation. I head out the shower, dry up, lotion then put on my pjays. I climb onto my bed then drift off to sleep. 

The next morning I didn't even try to call Ethan. Wherever he is I just hope he's safe. As usual I do my daily routine then head out for my morning class. During lunch I spend if with Bella but this time I got to meet her friend Jessica. She's very bubbly compared to Bella but she's a nce girl. We talked then went our separate ways as usual. After my classes I decided to go to the school library for my first assignment regarding the research of the first South African Constitution. 

By the time I left the library it was already dark outside and I began to worry since I'm all alone. I try to walk as fast as I could just to avoid any trouble. A few blocks before my street I notice a group of guys. I stop and they all turn their attention to me. I decide to cross the street just to make it seem like I didn't notice them but they just follow me. I start picking up my pace but they just walk as twice as I am. While starting to panick I decide to cross the street but this time without checking the road.
