Love Found or Heart Broken?

Aeko's POV
Ethan: Hey ain't I suppose to be the one telling you all this?
Me: Ouu..does this mean I can take your job?
Ethan: And...dinners over!
Me: I was just joking now sit your butt down.
Ethan: You really love my ass hey.
Me: Yeah dinners over.
We get up and start cleaning up. We say our goodbyes and Ethan leaves with the boxes. I head to bed and go straight to sleep. As I start to dose off, I think of Nadia and my dad. I miss my old life sometimes. I hope Nadia is doing well Jayden, I mean, I know he's changed a bit but I still fear with his temper. He's not the type to piss off or nag. And he hates the word no. I wanna trust him with my friend, I really do but this is still Jayden we talking about. I'll just have to put their relationship in the hands of the Lord now.
I wake up in the morning as usual only this time I don't know what to do. I check my phone for any messages and I have a few from Nadia. I decide to call her, even though she might still be asleep.
Nadia: The hell Aeko. Do you know how worried I was?!
Me: Babe I'm sorry, I meant to call last night but I was so tired I just went straight to sleep.
Nadia: How is it though?
Me: My room is amazing although I haven't seen the rest of the house yet. Maybe I'll ask Ethan to give me a tour.
Nadia: Who's Ethan?
Me: My guy.
Nadia: Your guy? You dating already!
Me: Hell no, he's like my go to guy.
Nadia: I'll just act like I understand you.
Me: Whatever you thinking, just we ain't dating!
Nadia: Yeah sure you aren't.
Me: Are you trying to get the poor guy killed?
Nadia: Hey there's no harm in having a little fun, your brother won't do anything to him.
Me: Hey I just made a new friend and I'm not gonna let him just die because your mind thinks too far.
Nadia: And what am I thinking exactly?
Me: Why did I call you again?
Nadia: You missed me
Me: Yeah sure I did
Nadia: Oh I see what you doing, it's cool.
Me: I don't know what you talking about.
Nadia: Don't forget to get laid!
Me: Don't forget to not get laid.
Nadia: I try but it ain't like easy. You know sometimes he does this thing where...
Me: Woah woah woah I don't need or want to hear about your s*x life with my brother.
Nadia: I'm giving you a few pointers though.
Me: I get some pointers on my own thank you.
Nadia: Does this mean that you going to do it with him?
Me: Yeah I really need to go shower.
Nadia: And don't forget to shave before you get some.
Me: I ain't getting s**t.
Nadia: Try not to scare the guy away!
Me: Bye Nadia.
I then drop the call. Damn this girl!
Jayden's POV
I'm sitting on my bed with Nadia and she's on a call with Aeko. The moment I heard Nadia mention a guy I freaked out. Nadia doesn't pay attention to me and continues to talk to Aeko. After she drops the call she turn to look at me and says...
Nadia: Don't, she's not dating anyone.
Me: I love how you know me so well.
Nadia: The way you were freaking out, trust me you not hard to miss.
Me: I should f**k some respect into you.
Nadia: Who's stopping you?
Me: Don't have to ask me twice!
I pull her close and I kiss her hungrily. I pull the blanket over us and the rest is history. Honestly I'm surprised she ain't pregnant yet. I should get that checked out actually.
For the past week, Nadia has been so amazing that I've actually thought of proposing to her. I know I may be rushing things, but I love this girl and I just want to make her mine already. Right now I'm on a call with Aeko to plan where I'm going to propose.
Aeko: What about a restaurant? You could book it for the both of you guys, that way you are guaranteed privacy.
Me: Yeah you right. Please do that for me.
Aeko: Fine I'll do it. I'll book it at François for eight o'clock Saturday night.
Me: Perfect, now to just get ready. Thanks love.
Aeko: What are baby sisters for?
Me: To annoying older brothers to death.
Aeko: You try to help a guy....
Me: Love you though.
Aeko: Love you too!
I drop the call then drift off to sleep. The past few days leading up to today were making me nervous, but luckily I had my trusted sister by my side.
I'm now driving to the restaurant with Nadia by my side and my nerves are back again. I park the car and walk into the restaurant with Nadia by my side. We get escorted to a table for two and a waiter brings us menus.
Nadia: Babe this is so romantic. You know you didn't have to do this right?
Me: I will do anything to show my lady how special she is to me.
Nadia: What did I do to deserve all of this?
Me: You loved me.
Our dinner went smoothly and after dessert I asked the waiter to play "You Are Not Alone" by Michael Jackson. I take Nadia hand and lead her to the center of the restaurant. We start moving together back and forth while she is singing along to the song. I decided to join her and our voices became synced. As we are looking deep into each other's souls I let go of her and reach for my blazer pocket. I pull out the box and get down on one knee. Immediately tears start to stream down her cheeks as she covers her mouth in shock. This is it!By now she's crying and shouting like crazy. I want to you to be the mother of my children. I want you to be the one who shouts at me for not picking up my socks. I want you to be the one who gets mad at me for not kissing them goodnight. I want you to be the one who smacks me when I'm too friendly with a girl. I want to be the one you love. I want to be the one who fills your life with sunshine, but mostly I want to be your soulmate. So tonight I'm here in front of you as a man filled with love asking you if you could make him complete and let him share his love with you. Nadia Lovetti, will you please marry me?
She just looks at me with tears rolling down her cheeks heavily and she's panting hard. She's still and looks into my eyes deep. After a few moments of silent and I look down thinking that she's about to reject me. Maybe I was too quick with this one. I hope this doesn't ruin us. Just before I'm about to get up she kneels down to my level and hugs me tight. She then pushes me a little and looks into my eyes. She smiles and says...
Nadia: Oh my God babe yes!, yes I'll marry you. I'll marry you a million times if I have to. I love you so much..
I stood up, placed the ring on her finger and kissed the life outta her. God knows how much I love this woman. I leave her inside to get my car so we can drive home to deliver the good news. I walk back inside and escort her to the car. I leave her standing by her side just to give my thanks to the manager. As I'm talking to the manager I hear gunshots coming from outside and I quickly rush out to see if Nadia is fine. I get to her side and my heart had never felt so defeated, so broken so cold like it did at that very moment.
I kneel on the floor and for the first time in over almost two decades, I cried. I cried like no man has ever cried before. I look around and realize that her phone and wallet are gone. Someone was robbing her. But why did they have to kill her though. I quickly carry her and put her at the back of my car. I rush to Bryan's hospital and ask for him directly at the reception area. He comes with a bunch of doctors and they place Nadia on a bed. Bryan tells me to wait at the waiting area and I decide to call Aeko. She picks up on the first ring as if she was awaiting my call.
Me: Remember the hospital I took you too?
Aeko: Yeah, Chastain. Why?
Me: Come there now!
I drop the call and sink myself down on one of the seats. After ten minutes Aeko arrives with a guy I've never seen before.
Aeko: Jayden what's wrong? Why did you summon me here? Where is Nadia? JAYDEN WHERE THE HELL IS NADIA?!
