Aeko's POV
I wake up and it seems like I'm in a hospital room. Fancy I must say. I look around only to find Nadia sleeping on a chair next to me. I lift the oxygen mask to try to speak to her but my throat is too sore to let a word escape. I start searching for something to throw at her and I see a vase full of flowers, I take it and remove the flowers in attempt to through them at her. Instead my best friend side decides to through the water knowing it will wake her up for sure.
Nadia: What the actually f**k!! Who did.... Aeko of my gosh you finally up. Oh how I've missed you child
Me: What happened?
Nadia: Jayden says you hit your head pretty hard on the dashboard, but you will be fine
Me: Where is everyone?
Nadia: Umm no one has been here since what happened. Only Jayden come to sign your forms
That I expected from my family but still it hurt that none of them cared to come and check up on me.
Me: How long have I been here?
Nadia: Only a few days
Me: When can I leave?
Nadia: Wait let me get the doctor
Doc: Morning Ms Ryan. How are you this morning?
Me: I'm fine Dr....?
Doc: Leopard
Me: Oh, doc I just wanna go home that's all. Can you grant me that?
Doc: Yes actually, I just need you to sign some forms and you can be on your way. I'll send a nurse to come give them to you
Me: So you and Jayden
Nadia: He's such a babe girl, damn.
Me: Are you guys like dating now
Nadia: Yeah, he asked me to be his girl last night
Me: You sure you want this
Nadia: You know how long I've crushing on him. He just makes me smile
Me: Oh and I don't
Nadia: Mxm you know what I mean
The nurse comes in and Nadia signs the discharge forms for me. She gives me some medication that I have to take for the next month and we left the hospital. We get to my house and it seems deserted. I go to my room and quickly take a short nap. I get woken up by my ringing phone. I start looking for it and find it in my left top drawer. Without checking the caller ID I answer the call.
Aunt: We coming home late and I want to get there with dinner prepared
With that said she drops the call. Seriously, I just got home from hospital and already she's moving me around. Not even a hi, how are you. To describe messary in two words it would be, my life. I get up and go take a shower. I head downstairs, cook a simple spaghetti dinner and lay out the dining table. Just as I was about to finish they all get home but I could sense tension between Jason, Jayden and Uncle.
Jayden's POV
I knew it. I knew this s**t would happen. How the f**k could mom let them do this. Remember when I said someone was going to come for Aeko now that she's leaving? Yeah well the day Aeko was getting discharged, I was suppose to go pick them up but told me we had somewhere to be. We all leave together and dad drives to this hotel called Blue Waters. We are escorted to a waiting lounge and the person who we were meeting was none other than Aeko's mother.
Me: Nicole
Nicole: Jayden, lovely to see you again
Me: Can't say likewise
Mom: What do you want Nicole
Nicole: I want my daughter
Me: Oh you mean the one you left when your dead husband left you nothing but the clothes he bought you
Her faced immediately became red and I knew I was pushing the right buttons. I dint want her anywhere near Aeko. I don't know what she's planning but her husband must have a hand in it. I've known Mr Johnson for a while now and he's never meant good news. We may work for the same people but there's something about him that's just not right.
Nicole: I want to do right by her
Me: What, new husband wants to leave you too?
Nicole: No, actually we want to make her a part of our family
Me: Over my...
Mom: Come by tomorrow, we'll talk then
Me: Mom seriously
Mom: Don't argue with me Jayden
Me: Nx I'll be in the car
Mom: Jay...
How dare she?! I already know she's gonna cave into whatever they will offer her. Mom was never good at saying no to money. I get in the car and shut the door close. As I'm lost deep in my thoughts, I get interrupted by my family entering the car. Dad drives us home and we're welcomed by Aeko's delicious cooking. After dinner I helped Aeko with the dishes then we both went upstairs to catch some sleep.
Me: We have a slight issue
Aeko: What's that?
Me: I don't have a place to sleep
Aeko: How come?
Me: I know what Jason did to you and I decided to move out. I've been crashing in your room since then
Aeko: Oh yeah that. That's OK, you can keep crashing with me
Me: Really?
Aeko: I know we may not get along but you did save me from Uncle and I owe you for that one
Me: Well I did kinda land you in hospital whilst doing so
Aeko: We'll call it even then
Me: I still get to crash in your room though right
Aeko: You owe me one though
Me: Whatever you need
With that said we get inside and likely I don't have to sleep on the floor, Aeko suggested I sleep with her. The next morning I decide to take Nadia and Aeko out on a date.Continuation
Aeko: So what's the special occasion?
Nadia: We just celebrating a special girl.
Aeko: Why? Did big guy propose already?
Me: Big guy? Really?
Aeko: That's what you are and I call it like I see it.
Me: Well played miss, but actually we are celebrating you.
Aeko: Me? I don't know what I did but I'm sorry I did it. Just don't kill me please.
Nadia: Oh come on. We just taking you out for breakfast.
Aeko: Are you pregnant?
Me: Okay, you ma'am are no longer allowed to ask anymore questions!
Aeko: So is that a yes?
Nadia: No more questions!!
Aeko: So it is a yes?
Me: What don't you understand by no more questions?!
Aeko: The fact that I can't ask anymore questions..
Nadia: This is going to be a long day.
Me: Tell me about it.
Nadia: It was your idea.
Me: Please don't remind me.
Aeko: I'm still here you know.
Nadia&I: We know.
Aeko: Busy making me a third wheel.
Me: Hey I love you too.
Aeko: I want to be loved by someone who's not my cousin!
Me: I'm not your cousin...
Aeko: What?!
Me: I'm your brother!
Aeko: Oh... that... Well you know what I mean.
Me: Oh you mean you want me to kill a bunch of guys, just because you feel lonely?
Aeko: Hey its not fair that you get to date and I don't!!
Me: I'm a guy and plus you my baby sister so obviously you can't date
Aeko: With you calling me baby sister, I'm definitely not going to be getting a date any time soon
Me: That's the plan.
The rest of the day was great. But the looks Aeko was getting from guys were pissing me off. I get home and mom tells me that Nicole and Mr Johnson are coming over for dinner. Obviously I protested, but Mom shut me up about it.
Dinner was a disaster because now Aeko is upstairs with Nadia packing. They are leaving with her and I don't know for how long she'll be staying with them. Nadia was devastated to have her friend leave like that but likely they are gonna meet up again when they move to Capetown. I'm proud of both my girls for making it this far.
Me: What game are you playing at Nicole? You never her before so why now?
I could feel daggers pointed at me from Mr Johnson's side. I've never felt intimidated by this man and I'm not about to shiver now.
Nicole: I just want to get my daughter back that's all.
Me: Oh cut the crap Nicole, your lies are worse than your smell. You both know that's bullshit.
Nicole: Well it's better than leaving her with an Uncle with robotic hands and an Aunt who bows down at the sight of money.
What I hated about what she said is the whole fact that she's right. Wait, how did she know about that?
