ANDRES
She got up immediately, excusing herself from the table even as her dress dripped blood. My eyes followed her movement, waiting until her eyes met mine from behind her papa’s chair. I smiled in amusement at the wild look in her eyes but at the same I was concerned which was a feeling I found quite irritating.
She turned and fled from my presence, her bloodied dress trailing behind her like in a horror movie. Mr Salvador cleared his throat beside me, drawing my attention back to him.
“You shall take the body with you, I presume?” he asked
“Yes, I shall” I answered distractedly as I glanced over to his wife who stayed silent beside him.
“And you will definitely want something in return for the incident?” He asked.
“You know the laws, Manuel.” I replied through gritted teeth, my eyes showing my anger.
He nodded and then said nothing else; of course, he knew the laws. It was an eye for an eye but in this case, a life for a hand.
I turned over to the sister who was sitting quietly beside me, she looked like she was about to take flight and was twirling her fingers in her laps.
“You should go to your sister” I murmured.
Her eyes came up to mine in confusion and then she smiled slightly before rising also excusing herself from the table.
I glanced at Mr Salvador who nodded in understanding and whispered something into his wife’s ears,
“Manuel” she started but one look from her husband and her mouth closed.
She sighed in surrender as she also left the room, not before looking back at her son in regret.
Antonio sat stoically, he knew what was coming and that he had to pay for the death of my uncle that he had caused but I made no move, thinking hard on what I wanted to do to him.
His eyes hardened when they met mine across the table; I wanted to murder the f*****g fool but not now, it would happen later and far away from the sweet Catherina.
I rose and went over to where he sat while Mr Salvador watched.
“Rise”
He got up and faced me, waiting.
“Right or left?”
He did not say a word, merely stared at something behind me. I hit him, satisfied at the pop I heard and the blood he spat out immediately, his eyes snapped to mine in amusement and so I hit him again and again until my knuckles cracked but he took it all without a sound.
It was admirable, his endurance of the pain and I suddenly felt a certain level of respect for him but it did not change the fact that I was going to have to kill him sooner or later.
“I hope this will absolve my son’s reckless behavior and put us on the right path again.” Manuel Salvador’s voice came through.
“I will forgive him this once but if he causes trouble for me, I will send you his head in a f*****g box.” I growled.
He nodded in understanding before addressing his son.
“Pick a side.”
“Right” Antonio said grimly.
Left it is, I thought in satisfaction and broke his f*****g arm.
I grinned as he let out a howl before dropping to the ground, cradling his broken arm.
“I said right, dammit.” He grunted.
I raised an eyebrow at his words
“Bold of you to think that I would go with what you wanted.”
His father signaled a guard who carried the injured man out of the room.
“Thank you for not escalating the issue.” He said.
“There would have been no use for that, I came here for a marriage… an alliance and not to wipe out your bloodline.”
“That alliance is assured and I would make sure to keep my irresponsible son in line.”
“You would do well to. This shall be my last warning to him.”
Manuel Salvador nodded in understanding and beckoned that I be escorted out of the house. I would think that he thought it wise to make sure I did not wander and finish the job I had started with his son which I so desperately wanted to do. I did not catch any glimpse of Catherina as I was leaving which was all for the best, I was fed up with having to feel things for the little chit.
My dead uncle was loaded up in his car and driven ahead of me with strict instructions to delay on informing the family of anything until I was present. I knew they would never question my decision and Franco was becoming a pain in the neck with his incessant gambling habit and weird taste in young girls. Sooner or later, there would have been a unanimous decision to dispose of him for the good of the clan.
Granted, there were going to be some protests at the method of disposal but only a fool would question me and there were no fools in my clan for I did not suffer them to live.
My mind drifted of its own accord to the sweet Catherina who was said to have run away with her papa’s gardener’s son. Rumor which were most definitely spread by her own papa had it that she was involved in an orgy with different men when he had stumbled upon her and she was hardly remorseful. Her papa had killed the men as I would have and made sure to send a warning to their families but that did not stop men from longing for the ass she had on her and it was quite irritating that now that I had set my eyes on her, I longed for it too.
She was a distraction that I did not want or need but she was there nonetheless, taunting and teasing and it would be a sin not to have my fun with her.
“A big sin indeed” I growled, smiling at the thought.
