Judas couldn’t decide if he wanted to sit down in his favourite chair or stand by the window and count the angels as they flew past Scotland Yard. He opted for the latter and was amazed to see how many there were now. They were no longer carrying flaming swords or lances that rippled with lightning. Some of these winged marvels were holding down full-time jobs while others preferred the zero-hour contracts and the flexibility they brought. He wondered as he watched them flitting here and there, what the older residents of the city thought. Was it unnerving for them? Many were old enough to remember the Second World War and the threat of the V2 rockets and the Doodlebugs that blackened the sky and levelled the ground.
