Judas woke the following day in his flat. The cleaner had been during the week and the place was spotless. He showered and dressed and turned LBC on so that he could hear Nick Ferrari tell him about what was happening in the capital, and beyond, over a bowl of power-packed wheat something or other. Today’s talking point was the NHS and people gluing their hands to the roads. He wondered how they would react to some of the things that had happened over the last week if they ever came to light. That was what he was here to do, keep everything going nice and easy, make sure that God’s children weren’t scared or eaten by the children of the Underworld. A thankless task so far.
