Chapter 10
She looked at him, horrified. “What?”
“It is true, Dana, every word. I was cursed to exist as The Magician of the Tarot Card, and that painting is a doorway to my lair. It is the doorway to a kingdom you couldn’t fathom. It is true I am a man of this world, but being The Tarot Magician gives me access to many other worlds beyond this one. While in these other worlds there are no restrictions on me, but in this one, I am bound by all the normal limitations, except where my magic can help me. Recently I was told that the door between these two worlds will close for all time, and I will find myself on one side or the other. I am a mortal man who belongs in the mortal world. I can only hope when that door is locked I will at last be home to stay.”
