Jumper

It was 4:30 am, and White woke up. She had been thinking how crazy the night before was, hoping it would have been a bad dream, but now a scared kid was missing, and a psychopath was on the loose. She rolled out of her bed and checked her phone, no calls, and no texts. She then decided to check the phone that she found on the scene. You have got one new message “No time to sleep, detective; while you were sleeping, I had some fun.” She did not reply to the message; this was a game for him, and she wasn’t going to play it. She took a shower, brushed, her teeth, made coffee, and got dressed as quickly as possible. She stepped into her car by 5:00. She went to the office to check the phone to see if they could find anything useful. She walked into the lobby and headed towards the area where they studied the phones and computers and handed the phone to Rick, the technician on duty that day. “I need to know who made that call last night and where that call was made from,” she told him while showing him the call records. “It will take me a little bit, but I will get back to you as soon as possible.” Rick replied. “I will stay here until you are done; I can't leave that phone out of my sight. One more thing if you get anything while you are working on it, stop what you are doing and tell me what it said.” “Okay” She sat down in a chair near the office while still drinking her coffee. One hour passed by, and there was no progress with the phone. Another hour passed by, and she started moving her legs and getting anxious she knew how precious time was in cases like this. She stood up and walked into the office. “Anything new on the phone?” “No, this guy has better security than the U.S. Pentagon. The phone is fully functional, and you can use it normally, but when I tried to triangulate where the call originated, the pin kept jumping around. I tried the same thing with the text messages, and the same thing happened. The good news is that he was in the United Kingdom; the pin never jumped out of the country; that's the best I could do for now. It will take a couple of days to keep narrowing it down, and who knows if your guy will be miles away by the time I do it.” “Well, at least we know that he was in the country; we need to corner him like the rat he is. This guy is sick, so he will strike again, and I am sure it will be soon because of a text that the ill bastard sent me.” White told him. “You told me you were going to keep the phone; I put a chip on it to monitor it and get all the calls and texts when you get them.” Rick gave the phone back to White. "Perfect, Thank you." White looked at her watch, and it was 8:00 am. ”I should probably check out the ME to see if we got anything else from the bodies.” She headed outside the office. She then stopped at a gas station for some gas and to buy something quick to eat. She forgot to grab something on the way out of her house. She paid for the gas and the food and walked outside. On her way to the car, she felt eyes. It was like someone was watching her every move. She got another text message on the killer's phone. “Enjoy whatever you are eating, Detective; you never know if that will be your last meal. Don't worry about the kid; he is well fed.” “You enjoy the little bit of freedom you have because when I catch you, I will make sure you get a needle stick up your arm, which is a minor punishment for what you deserve” she texted back looking around. “So lovely dear, but I still have a lot to do, and you are not ready to catch me yet. See you later, Detective.” She closed her fists out of anger wanting to break the phone. It was frustrating that this guy was following her every move. She then called Hackman and told him to meet her at the morgue to see what the bodies had to say. She received a call from the ME. “Hello Emily, what's going on?” “You got to come to the morgue quickly. You are not going to believe this,” Emily replied
