Chapter Twenty-Three
[Leon's POV]
I woke up to find the bed empty, and when I checked my phone, I was surprised to see it was nearly midday. I desperately ran to the bathroom, feeling every ache in my legs and arms from the run last night.
- Sorry I slept in, busy morning?
I quickly text Iodine and had a quick wash at the sink. I kept thinking back to last night, the noises I'd made her make, the way Iodine looked at the moment she fell over the precipice. Even my ears felt hot from thinking of her, and I washed my face again with the coldest water I could. I checked the medicine cabinet and found some painkillers, taking one of the OTC pills with a quick slurp of water to take the edge of the ache off.
