First Night?

Episode 4: First Night? Dinner was a blur. They went to some exclusive restaurant where Adrian was clearly known—the staff treated him with a deference that went beyond excellent service into something closer to reverence. Kira barely tasted the food, though she was sure it was exquisite. She was too aware of Adrian across the table, of the way his eyes tracked her every movement, of the heat building between them with every passing moment. They talked. About business, about their respective empires, about the careful dance of maintaining a supernatural identity in the human world. But beneath the conversation was a current of tension so thick Kira could barely breathe. She wanted him. Wanted him with an intensity that terrified her. And from the way Adrian's eyes kept darkening, the way his hand would tighten on his wine glass whenever she shifted in her seat, he felt the same. "Come back with me," Adrian said finally, his voice rough. "Not for business. Not for negotiation. Just... come back with me." Kira should have said no. Should have gone home to her own penthouse, put distance between them, given herself time to think about what she was doing. But the bond hummed between them, insistent and undeniable. "Yes," she said. The drive back to his building felt endless. They sat in the back of Adrian's car, not touching, but Kira could feel the heat of him beside her. Could smell his dark, spiced scent. Could hear the slight quickening of his breath that told her his control was as frayed as hers. When they finally reached his penthouse, Adrian led her past the main living area to a door she hadn't noticed before. He pressed his palm against a biometric scanner, and the door slid open to reveal a private elevator. "My chambers," he said quietly. "No one goes there but me." The implication was clear. He was taking her somewhere private. Somewhere intimate. Somewhere he'd never taken anyone else. Kira's dragon purred with satisfaction. The elevator descended—not up, but down—and when the doors opened, Kira's breath caught. Adrian's private chambers were nothing like the sleek, modern penthouse above. This was old-world luxury—dark wood paneling, rich fabrics in deep burgundies and blacks, antique furniture that looked like it belonged in a European castle. Candles flickered in wall sconces, casting dancing shadows across the space. And in the center of it all was a massive bed with carved posts and silk sheets that looked sinfully soft. "This is beautiful," Kira breathed. "This is me," Adrian said. "The real me. Not the investment banker. Not the modern businessman. This is who I was three hundred years ago, and who I still am when I'm alone." He was giving her something precious—a glimpse behind the mask he wore for the world. Kira turned to face him, seeing him differently now. Not the polished executive, but the ancient vampire who'd survived centuries and built an empire in the shadows. "Thank you," she said softly. "For trusting me with this." "You showed me your dragon," Adrian said, moving closer. "It's only fair I show you my true self." He was close enough now that Kira could feel his body heat—or lack of it. His skin was cool, vampire-cold, but it didn't repel her. Instead, it made her want to warm him, to press her dragon fire against his ancient ice and see what happened when they collided. "Adrian," she whispered. "I want—" "Tell me." His hand came up, cupping her face. "Tell me what you want." "You. All of you. No more holding back." His eyes flashed crimson. "If we do this—if we give in to the bond—there's no going back. You understand that?" "I understand." "I'll want to feed from you. It's part of the bond. Part of how vampires claim their mates." His thumb stroked over her pulse point, and Kira shivered. "I'll want to taste you while I'm inside you. Want to feel your dragon fire in my veins while you come apart beneath me." The explicit words sent heat flooding through her. "Yes." "Yes to what?" "Yes to all of it." Kira's hands fisted in his shirt, pulling him closer. "I want you to claim me. Want to feel what it's like to be yours." Adrian's control shattered. He kissed her with a hunger that stole her breath, his mouth claiming hers like he was starving. Kira kissed him back with equal desperation, her hands sliding under his shirt to feel the cool skin beneath. She needed to touch him, needed to feel every inch of him against her. They stripped each other with urgent hands—shirts hitting the floor, pants following, until they were both naked and pressed together skin to skin. Adrian's body was perfect—lean muscle and pale skin that seemed to glow in the candlelight. Kira ran her hands over his chest, his shoulders, his back, marveling at the feel of him. "You're so warm," Adrian murmured against her mouth. "Like touching fire." "Dragon fire," Kira corrected. She could feel it rising beneath her skin, responding to her arousal. "Does it hurt?" "No." His hands slid down her sides, over her hips, pulling her flush against him. "It feels incredible. Like coming alive after centuries of cold." He walked her backward until her legs hit the bed, then followed her down onto the silk sheets. The fabric was cool against her heated skin, a delicious contrast that made her gasp. Adrian settled between her thighs, his weight pressing her into the mattress, and Kira wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer. "I need to taste you," Adrian said, his voice rough with hunger. "Need to know every inch of you." His mouth moved down her throat, over her collarbone, down to her breasts. He took his time, exploring her with lips and tongue and the occasional scrape of teeth that made her arch off the bed. When he took her n****e into his mouth, sucking hard, Kira cried out, her hands fisting in his hair. "Adrian, please—" "Please what?" He moved to her other breast, giving it the same attention. "Tell me what you need." "You. Inside me. Now." "Not yet." His mouth moved lower, kissing down her stomach, over her hip bones. "I told you I wanted to taste you. All of you." Kira's breath caught as she realized what he meant. "Adrian—" But he was already there, his mouth on her, his tongue sliding through her folds with devastating precision. Kira's back arched, her hands clutching at the sheets as pleasure crashed through her. He knew exactly how to touch her, exactly what pressure and rhythm would drive her wild. "God, you taste incredible," Adrian murmured against her. "Like honey and fire." His tongue circled her c**t, then flicked over it with just the right pressure. Kira's hips lifted, seeking more, and Adrian's hands gripped her thighs, holding her in place while he devoured her. The sensation was overwhelming—pleasure building and building until she was trembling on the edge. "Come for me," Adrian commanded, his voice dark with authority. "Let me taste you when you fall apart." His mouth closed over her c**t, sucking hard, and Kira shattered. The o****m ripped through her with an intensity that stole her breath, her dragon fire flaring beneath her skin. She felt her eyes flash gold, felt heat radiating from her body in waves. Adrian groaned against her, his tongue still working her through the aftershocks. When she finally came down, gasping and trembling, he kissed his way back up her body. "Beautiful," he murmured against her mouth, letting her taste herself on his lips. "You're so beautiful when you come." Kira pulled him into a deep kiss, pouring all her need and hunger into it. She could feel him hard against her thigh, could feel how much he wanted her. But there was something else too—a tension in his body, a restraint that told her he was holding back. "What is it?" she asked. Adrian's eyes met hers, and they were fully crimson now—vampire eyes, ancient and hungry. "I want to feed from you. Want it so badly I can barely think. But I need you to be sure. Once I do this, once I taste your blood while we're joined—" "The bond will be complete," Kira finished. "I know." "And you're okay with that?" She should have been terrified. Should have been running from the idea of being permanently bound to someone she'd known for less than a week. But looking into Adrian's eyes, feeling the pull of the bond between them, Kira knew there was no other choice. This was inevitable. This was right. "I'm sure," she said. "I want this. Want you. Want the bond." Adrian's eyes blazed. "Then I'm going to make you mine." He positioned himself at her entrance, the head of his c**k pressing against her. Kira's breath caught at the sensation—he was big, and even after her o****m, she could feel the stretch as he began to push inside. "Relax," Adrian murmured, his hand sliding between them to circle her c**t. "Let me in." The dual sensation—his fingers on her c**t, his c**k slowly filling her—made Kira's head fall back. She forced herself to relax, to open for him, and inch by inch he slid deeper. When he was fully seated inside her, they both groaned. "God, you feel perfect," Adrian breathed. "Like you were made for me." "Maybe I was," Kira gasped. The fullness was overwhelming, the stretch just on the edge of too much. But it felt right. Felt like coming home. Adrian began to move—slow, deep thrusts that made Kira's toes curl. He kept his hand between them, his fingers working her c**t in time with his movements, building the pleasure higher and higher. Kira wrapped her legs around his waist, meeting his thrusts, taking him deeper. "That's it," Adrian groaned. "Take all of me." The rhythm built, faster and harder, until they were both gasping. Kira could feel another o****m building, could feel her dragon rising to the surface, drawn by the intensity of the pleasure and the primal satisfaction of being claimed. "Adrian," she gasped. "I'm close—" "I know." His thrusts became more urgent, more desperate. "I can feel you tightening around me. But I need—I need to feed. Need to taste you when you come." "Yes," Kira breathed. "Do it. Claim me." Adrian's mouth found her throat, his lips pressing against her pulse point. Kira tilted her head, giving him access, her heart racing with a mixture of fear and anticipation. She'd never let anyone feed from her before. Never let anyone that close. But this was Adrian. This was her mate. "This might hurt," Adrian warned, his fangs grazing her skin. "I don't care. I want—" He bit down. The sensation was like nothing Kira had ever felt. There was a sharp sting as his fangs pierced her skin, but it was immediately overwhelmed by a wave of pleasure so intense it bordered on pain. She felt him drinking from her, felt her blood flowing into him, and with it, her dragon fire. Adrian groaned against her throat, his hips snapping forward in a brutal thrust. The combination of sensations—his c**k filling her, his mouth on her throat, the pull of him drinking from her—sent Kira spiraling into the most intense o****m of her life. She screamed, her back arching, her nails digging into his shoulders hard enough to draw blood. Her dragon fire exploded outward, heat radiating from her body in waves. She felt her eyes flash gold, felt scales ripple beneath her skin, felt the full force of her supernatural nature rising to meet his. Adrian drank deeper, his thrusts becoming erratic as his own o****m approached. Kira could feel it through the bond—could feel his pleasure mixing with hers, amplifying it until she couldn't tell where she ended and he began. "Kira," he groaned against her throat, and then he was coming, his c**k pulsing inside her as he filled her. The sensation triggered another wave of pleasure, and Kira came again, her body clenching around him as they rode out the intensity together. Finally, Adrian's fangs retracted, and he licked over the puncture wounds, sealing them with his vampire saliva. He collapsed on top of her, both of them gasping for breath, trembling with aftershocks. For a long moment, they just lay there, hearts racing, bodies still joined. Kira could feel something settling between them—something ancient and powerful and utterly unbreakable. The bond was complete. "Are you okay?" Adrian asked finally, his voice rough. "I don't know," Kira admitted. "I feel... different. Like something fundamental just changed." "It did." Adrian lifted his head, his eyes—back to their normal dark brown—searching hers. "I can feel you now. Not just physically. I can feel your emotions, your dragon. You're inside me." Kira realized he was right. She could feel him too—could sense his satisfaction, his possessiveness, his deep contentment. And beneath it all, something that felt like love, though neither of them had said the word yet. "Is it always like this?" she asked. "The bond?" "I don't know." Adrian rolled to the side, pulling her with him so they were facing each other. "I've never bonded with anyone before. Never wanted to. But with you..." He trailed off, his hand coming up to cup her face. "With you, it feels right." Kira leaned into his touch, feeling the truth of his words through the bond. "I've never let anyone this close. Never wanted to be vulnerable with anyone." "Neither have I." Adrian's thumb stroked over her cheekbone. "But I think that's the point. We're both apex predators. Both used to being alone, being in control. But together—" "Together we're stronger," Kira finished. "Yes." He pulled her closer, tucking her against his chest. "And now we're bound. Permanently. Irrevocably. You're mine, and I'm yours." The possessiveness in his voice should have made her bristle. Kira had spent her entire life refusing to belong to anyone. But hearing Adrian claim her, feeling the bond humming between them with satisfaction, she realized she didn't mind. Because he was right. She was his. And he was hers. "What happens now?" Kira asked quietly. "Now?" Adrian's hand stroked down her back, tracing the line of her spine. "Now we deal with the consequences. Our respective councils won't be happy about this. There will be political complications. Probably threats." "Sounds fun," Kira said dryly. Adrian's laugh was warm against her hair. "We'll handle it. Together. That's what mates do." Mates. The word settled over Kira like a warm blanket. She'd never thought she'd have a mate. Had never wanted one. But lying here in Adrian's arms, feeling the bond between them, she couldn't imagine anything else. "I should probably be terrified," she admitted. "We barely know each other. This is insane." "It is," Adrian agreed. "But it's also inevitable. The bond chose us for a reason." "Do you believe that? That the bond knows something we don't?" "I do now." He tilted her face up, his eyes serious. "I've been alive for three hundred years, Kira. I've met thousands of people. Done thousands of deals. Slept with more partners than I can count. But I've never felt anything like what I feel for you. Never wanted anyone the way I want you. That has to mean something." Kira's heart clenched. "I feel it too. This pull toward you. Like you're the other half of something I didn't know was incomplete." "Exactly." Adrian kissed her forehead, soft and tender. "So we trust it. Trust the bond. Trust each other. And we figure out the rest as we go." It should have been terrifying. Should have been too much, too fast, too intense. But lying in Adrian's arms, feeling the bond humming between them with contentment, Kira felt only peace. For the first time in her life, she wasn't alone. "Stay with me tonight," Adrian said. "Sleep here. Let me hold you." "Okay," Kira whispered. They shifted, getting comfortable in the massive bed. Adrian pulled the silk sheets over them, then gathered Kira against his chest. She tucked her head under his chin, one leg thrown over his, their bodies fitting together perfectly. "Your skin is warmer now," Kira observed. "Not as cold as before." "Your dragon fire," Adrian explained. "It's warming me from the inside. I can feel it in my veins, mixing with your blood. It's... incredible." Kira smiled against his chest. "Good. I like the idea of warming you." "And I like the idea of cooling you." His hand stroked through her hair. "Balance. That's what we are. Fire and ice. Dragon and vampire. Two apex predators who should be enemies but instead—" "Complete each other," Kira finished. "Yes." They fell silent, both processing what had just happened. The magnitude of what they'd done. The bond was complete now—permanent and unbreakable. They were mates in the truest sense of the word. And despite every logical reason this should be a disaster, Kira had never felt more certain of anything in her life. "Adrian?" she said quietly. "Hmm?" "I don't regret this. Any of it." His arms tightened around her. "Neither do I." Kira closed her eyes, letting herself relax fully for the first time in years. She could feel Adrian's heartbeat beneath her cheek—slow and steady, vampire-slow. Could feel the bond between them, warm and solid and real. She'd spent her entire life building walls, keeping people out, refusing to be vulnerable. But with Adrian, the walls had crumbled. And instead of feeling exposed and weak, she felt stronger. Because she wasn't alone anymore. She had a mate. A partner. Someone who saw all of her—the ruthless businesswoman, the powerful dragon, the vulnerable woman beneath—and wanted her anyway. Someone who was hers, just as she was his. "Sleep," Adrian murmured, his voice already drowsy. "We'll deal with everything else tomorrow." "Tomorrow," Kira agreed. She let herself drift, safe in Adrian's arms, the bond humming between them like a lullaby. And for the first time in her life, Kira fell asleep feeling completely, utterly content. Whatever came next—whatever consequences they'd face, whatever challenges the bond would bring—they'd handle it together. Because they were mates now. And nothing would ever be the same.
