My head was still hurting, and all of my body felt sore and banged up. I could distantly hear the sound of a monitor beeping and it only made my mind more jumbled up than it already was. I tried to move but my body felt heavy. “Sky? Can you hear me?” I heard a voice call out and I groaned, my throat was sore.
“I’ll get her a glass of water,” I heard another voice say before footsteps replaced it.
“You took quite a hit, Sky, I’m impressed. But you shouldn’t have gone off without telling me,” I tried to smile faintly at my partner’s tone, she was scolding me as if I were a child.
