Chapter III The relay race -4-The escape from Campo Libero had made the group, led by General Fortdar, very tired. Certain that they would not be followed, they were forced to stop for the night. They had passed the great road to Hombros; in the distance to the north, the lights of Othis were visible; to the south, the Hom river wound through the hills outlining the route to the capital.
