Natasha started to feel conscious. It did not happen suddenly like the sun coming up. Instead it was like an painful wave that washed over rough ground.
For what felt like a long time but also like no time at all Natasha was, in a place that had no shape and made no sound. The only thing she could hear was the echo of a scream.
It might have been her scream or maybe it was the whole universe screaming. Natasha also remembered something tearing apart. It was a strong and painful memory.
