“Grandma!” I called her “Balthazar’s cheating!”
Pointing to the clear window where I could see from, I showed her what I could see. Cody is her arms as he turns his head to look at the image too and he starts to cry
“Hush now love” Grandma said to him “They will win. I’m sure of it. You’re daddy is smart. He will let her know who he is”
“But I thought Auntie Anna was meant to know” I asked her
“She is. But she also hasn’t had a lot of time with him. But if she is smart, she will find a way with both her heart and her mind” Grandma explained
Grandma rocked Cody who started to whimper, now his tears less. I stuck my thumb in my mouth, missing mummy and getting scared. But then I remember who I am and that I can’t be scared. I have to be brave and trust in my people.
