To say that Skylar Was nervous was an understatement, thrown across his bed was practically all his clothing. Skylar Didn't understand why he just couldn't choose something to wear. It's Just a get-together, it's not like a real date. He probably just wanted to see what the town liked and found it easier just to ask me? But Skylardidn't want to look too desperate but also not sloppy. He did want to look like he put some effort into their meeting. Pulling his phone out he started to facetime Ross. “Hey Rossey, I need some serious help here. Do you think you could come over and help me get dressed?” he asked while giving him his best puppy eyes. “Ross looked like he was outside walking somewhere, “Yeah sure, I have nothing better to do and I always have time for you bro.” he agreed “Just give me thirty minutes and i'll be there” “Great! Thanks, dude, see you in thirty,” he said then hung up. Skylar Decided to go downstairs and get something to drink. It was a super hot day, almost past 100 degrees. And not surprisingly his air conditioner had decided to break. Getting a glass of his favorite drink he looked over his house and frowned. His father had not come home last night and probably in his non-drucken state had decided to do some extra shifts. They were once again behind in bills and Skylardidn't know if they would come out the other end in scratch. One way or another they would suffer. Skylar Would either give all his tuition money to cover the bill and not be able to go to college until he could find a job and save up enough money. Or he would be a selfish d**k and abandon his father and allow him to stay on the streets, while he went to school and started a new life. And knowing himself he wouldn't abandon his father. He was the only family he had left and he knew his mother would be disappointed in him if he did. Skylar Felt so trapped, he felt like he was boxed in and every day that box became smaller and smaller. He felt like he was doomed to carry the weight of his father on his back for ever. He really wished he would just sober up and be a father. He could remember when his dad was a dad. Those days were perfect. Skylar Felt love and he felt that everything was going to be alright. But now he felt like he would have to work two jobs just so he could save the family and go to school and continue his education. Skylar Wanted to be a doctor and help people who didn't have much. He personally knew the effects of greed in the hospital industry. He would start his own practice and help others. Skylar Wanted to be independent but he also wanted the security of knowing he was with someone who could care for him. Someone who could make the hard decisions for him and he didn't have to worry about anything. It was a silly dream but goddamn did it sound nice. Straightening up the pillows on the couch and making sure the house was in good shape he sat down on the couch and started to jot down a list of things the house needed. The refrigerator was low and the cabinets were practically bare. So he needed to go food shopping and the grass was getting a little high so he needed to do that. He was hoping he would have received a phone call by now saying he was hired but sadly he hadn't heard anything. He would do the lawn tomorrow hopefully it wasn't this hot. The doorbell sounds announcing that Ross was here.standing up he opened the door and smiled. Ross was wearing a white tank top and some cut off jeans. His hair was braided into neat little rows platted towards the back. “You look nice.” He complimented “Oh, um thanks,” he blushed and pushed his way trying to hide the blush on his brown cheeks. Skylarjust laughed and closed the door. Florence and Skylartried to compliment Ross as much as possible. He was so shy and didn't realize how handsome he truly was. Heading upstairs they entered his room. Rubbing his neck he looked away in embarrassment. “Wow, your room is terrible,” Ross said while his fingers twitched. “I'll clean up while you search for something decent to wear,” Skylar Said while picking up the pieces of mess and throwing it a way of putting it in its proper places. After ten minutes of searching, Ross had put together the perfect outfit, and Skylarwas stacking up another pile of books. He really needed to get a bookshelf. He had over a hundred books spread out over his room. “Dang, you are awesome Ross! This outfit is just right. The outfit was a pair of brown shorts that fit him in all the right places and a hunter green v neck that brought out his eyes. “And for shoes, you can wear your black Jordans. Ross said while looking over the outfit a small smile on his lips. Grabbing the clothes he went into the bathroom and took a shower. After washing his hair he toweled off and moisturized and then got dressed. He looked nice, his freckles stood out more and so did the brown in his eyes. Coming out he threw the towel on his computer chair and grabbed the brush and comb through his hair, he only added a little product so the summer heat wouldn't frizz up his curls. Grabbing his mother's ring he slipped it on his finger. He always wore her wedding ring, it wasn't a diamond ring, just a plain gold band that had his mother and fathers initials engraved into it. It gave him a sense of comfort, he felt that she was always with him. “You look really nice Skylar, so are you excited about your date?” he asked “It's not really a date, I think since he’s new to town he just wants a tour,” he said while putting on some cinnamon and vanilla oil on his wrist and a light dab on his neck. It smelled amazing. “Yeah, and it's not as hot as hell outside,” Ross said sarcastically They both laughed. “I am a little nervous, what if I embarrass myself he’s older and is so mature,” he explained “You're very mature as well. Out of the three of us in the group, you have a very stable head on your shoulders. You're going to be okay and have a good time, okay?” Ross encouraged him. “Yeah … okay, have a good time.” Skylarsaid to himself.
