“The king? Doubtful,” said Charlaine, “but I have complete faith in Duarte. He’s the one that conducts all the military operations.”
“Now that everyone"s here, would you mind sharing what role the rebels will play in the attack?"
“Of course,” she replied, pointing to the map. “In two days they will make an assault on Alantra. There are no walls of any consequence, so his men will attack along a wide section of the city.”
“From what direction?” asked Cordelia.
“From the west, mainly, though they’ll make a feint from the north to begin with, the intention being to draw off forces. Once that’s underway, they’ll send men in to capture strategic points.”
