Autumn 1095 SR Charlaine dipped the brush back into the bucket of water. The dining hall floor was proving resistant to her efforts, the stains simply spreading with each new stroke. Footsteps echoed towards her, and when she looked up, Sister Erika loomed over her. “Captain Nina wants to see you.” “Right now?” Charlaine replied. “I’m in the middle of washing the floor.” “That can wait, you’re wanted in her office right now.
