“It’s a longer patrol today,” said Danica. “We’re riding all the way over to the Travarre farm.”

“He’s back home, from what I gather.”
Cordelia came out of the chapter house.
“Here comes our glorious leader,” noted Danica.
“She seems to have adjusted well to being Senior Knight once more. It can’t have been easy, being demoted by Captain Nina.”
“That was months ago,” said Danica, “and Giselle reinstated her almost immediately. If you ask me, she should never have been demoted in the first place, she’s a natural leader.”
“I’m sure Erika would disagree with you,” noted Charlaine. “She took it hard when she lost seniority.”
