Ava is happy that she's seen an opportunity to please the Xander. Just as she gets off the phone, she tries to put her desk in order, smiling and humming when she stumbles on the contract documents, which its presentation is due until tomorrow afternoon. She recalls she has a great deal at hand tomorrow and her sole saviour is Susan, who she fought with. Standing on the line, she is forced to decide. Befriending Susan back, while she thinks of it, she also sees no harm as the party on Saturday will need her to be close to the boss but that wouldn't happen if Susan doesn't go as she knows Susan will always be close to the boss on the party night. So she will be close too to him seems like the perfect plan.
So worried about tomorrow, she soliloquizes. "You can do this, Ava alright?" She flips through the presentation documents and finds it interesting. She steps out to Susan's office to apologize for her own desires, not because she should apologize. With a smile on her face as she leaves her office with the file in her hand while get to Susan's door, she prays Susan falls for her apologize so that her plans are carried out as planned. Standing there, she knocks twice, no response. Then again, she knocks and immediately Susan calls out. "Who is there? Open up and come in, please." Susan says, her head still bent to her computer system.
"Hey Susi girl, are you still mad at me?" She teases Susan as she enters, looking so pitiful." I just want to apologize for the way I flamed up on you earlier. I was out of line and I shouldn't have let my emotions get the best of me."
Susan sighs, though surprised at what she is hearing from Ava so soon. Whether it's a genuine feeling, she is not the main point. Stammering, she says, "It's alright. I'm just glad you were good now, and that's what matters. I forgive you."
"Really? Thank you so much. I was worried you would be mad at me for a while. And you never saw that part of me. Thanks for forgiving me and my flaws." Ava says to her in thanks for her immense love as a friend, but deep down in her heart she rejoices as her plan is born to succeed.
Shaking her hands and objects to what Ava says. "Nah, we're friends. It's all good. What are friends for if they can't overcome troubling times?" They both smile as she responds to Ava.
"Thank you again. So, about tomorrow's presentation. I think we should start practicing early, don't you think?" Ava mutters to Susan.
She was in a state of awe at what Ava had just mentioned. The deal day is tomorrow not far anymore. She gives the expression, which makes Ava worry as she playfully speaks, asking her questions.
"No way!" She exclaims, "Don't tell me you forgot the same way I did. I guess a lot is on our mind."
"Yeah, definitely. We only have a day left, and we need to make sure we're ready. Thanks for coming. We sure will hit the pitch this time and you, as the focus, will be a talk in the company for a long time. Get ready," Susan teases Ava as she blushes
Ava's heart races with double happy on hearing what she just said. "I was thinking we should go through our slides together and I practice the speaking points. What do you think?" Ava asks, suggesting her ideas.
"Urmmm." Sounds like a good plan. Do you want to meet up tonight to work on it?" She asks Ava to help them straight things out too.
Ava shakes her head with her finger on her chin, thinking about it for a while and not wanting to be in a hurry and stay out late. "Actually, I have plans tonight, but I can come over to your place tomorrow morning and we can practice before the presentation, since it's during the afternoon hours.," She winks her eyes twice.
"Sure, that works for me. Do you need any help with anything else?" She agrees with Ava with little arguments, not to push her by force but to allow her to do what she wants.
"Actually, I was hoping you could look at my section and give me some feedback. I feel like it's missing something." Ava places the file on the desk, pin pointing some paragraphs where she needs help.
Susan smiles and nods. "Of course, I'd be happy to help. Let's go through it together tomorrow morning." She says to Ava while looking at the time as it's the hour to get off work.
"Great. Thanks again for forgiving me, Susan. I'm really looking forward to your editing and advising skills tomorrow. Am so happy. Bye... I will get off first." Ava says as she smiles at her, leaving the office.
...
Trying to put herself together with a little touch of makeup for the road, she picks up her bag and heads downstairs as she gets off from work. Alot of the junior staff can tell she is over happy and her mood this morning is so different as they get off work. Rushing down, she bumps into Mr Xander. He notices her expression is so lightened up; he wonders what's making her happy. He offers to give her a lift home. She accepts and off they left
While getting in the car, feeling relieved, she utters. "I'm just so relieved to be done for the day. You know, sir?" she says to him, looking all happy without worrying.
"Yeah, I can tell! What's got you so happy?" He asks out of curiosity.
"She came around and apologized and we're good right now. Though something didn't seem right about her niceness in that short time but it's all good. What matters now is we're happy."
"Hmmm," he exhales as he talks to himself in his mind. "Don't worry, I will worry about that for you. Just continue to be innocent." He concludes to himself, stealing a glance at her.
