I think I just messed up

"Mmmm, Ouch!" Susan wakes up with a pounding headache and intense feel of hunger in her stomach but her memories are hazy and fragmented. All she remembers is that, her boss Mr Xander had offered to drop her off at her apartment and when he did, she insisted that he comes in and they both drank red wine untill she had an hangover. "Ooh No! What have I done this time." She knows that it couldn't have been good since she is loose-liped when ever she gets tipsy. As she struggles to remember what happened, she reaches for her phone to call John. Just then, she hears a light knock on the door. To her surprise, she opens the door to see John standing outside. He peeked his head, giving a flashy peerly white smile as always. "Surprise!" He spreads his arms for a warm hug She gasps in shock to see john. Just as if he always had a telescope somewhere pointed to the back of her head, seeing that he always showed up at the right time. "Ooh... Thank God. You're here, just right ontime. I was just about calling you." "Calling me? Okay..." "Yeah. You have to come inside right now. I think I did something really bad last night," she exclaims walking back to the couch. John lets out a chuckle as Susan's panicks."Okay, okay, calm down Susan," he says, trying to stifle his laughter. "What's the worst that could have happened? You got a little tipsy and tripped over your own feet?" "It's not funny, "Susan throws a stern look at John. "I invited my boss, Mr. Xander, over to the house last night as a small way of showing gratitude and thanking him for the dinner date but–" "Wait! Did you just say dinner date?,"He guffaws and opens his mouth in confusion. Surprised to hear that susan actually went out on a dinner date with her so called annoying boss and still invited him into her apartment. "Yes dinner date." She nods her head "How? Am I missing out on something here already?" "Something like what?–" "Something like the gist you should tell me about you and your boss off course." John raises his eyebrows, trying to persuade her into details. "It's just a dinner for crying out loud." John looks at her with a sarcastic smile. "Just a dinner indeed. What even lead to this adventurous memorable dinner?" "Really? John! It was just a mere misunderstanding and he decided to make it up to me with a dinner outing. Best reasons known to him. Off course he insisted before it became a reality." "That's the classic Susan material right there." John smiles with a thumb up to her face. "Okay... actually, thae restaurant was perfect. The food was delicious, the conversation was easy, and the wine was flowing. We talked about career and our interests, and we talked for hours. "Besides, i don't see what" –she tosses as braid over her shoulder– "the big deal is." "Aaahhh, it's a big deal my dear susi sweetheart. Someone you always complained about, saying he's rude and rigid, ignoring every other person in the office, now all of a sudden having red wine with you in your own apartment. Mmmmm. This must be a mystery or better still a miracle." "But that's not even the point. The point here is that, I must have had too much to drink because I can't remember most of the night. But I know I said some really nasty things and I think we might have kissed." "No way! Kiss?! Are we still talking about the CEO of the EMPIRE?! or some other boss somewhere you might have gotten a job and didn't tell me?" "Offcourse. The EMPIRE company." She panics tapping her legs on the ground. "I-I don't know, John. I think and I-I think we might have kissed. But I can't be sure, I was so drunk." John Can't help but burst out in laughing at the absurdity of the situation. "Susan, Susan, Susan. You never cease to amaze me. Kissing your boss? That's a new one even for you." Susan groans in frustration, immediately regretting her decision. She swallow hard with a bitter taste in her mouth. "I know, I know, it's not funny John. I'm really scared of what might have happened and what Mr. Xander might think of me now." "Awnnn, she's even concerned about what he thinks of her now." Susan rolls her eyes, "John, this isn't funny. I could lose my job over this." John put his arm around her comfortingly, "Don't worry, we'll figure it out. After all you were drunk and you didn't mean any of those things you said right?" She blinks her eyes with a glimps of coldness, neither confirming nor denying the words that came out of John's mouth and finally saying something, "Right" she says, though sounding miserable at her own response. "But come to think of it, you're really something. You know very well that you're not an alcohol freak, why did you still choose to embarrass yourself." John asks with a face of concern. "I didn't know what came over me but one thing I know for sure is, this is definitely the last time my lip kisses any alcohol." Casually leaning against the couch watching Susan panic from one end of the room to the other. "Better. It must not." Just as she paces back and forth the house, her phone rings. She turns to see who it is, nobody other than Mr Xander calling. " Speak of the devil and he's calling.," "You mean, Mr Xander?" John sounds anxious "Then you've got to pick that up, else you want to create unnecessary suspicions." What am I going to say to him.? What if he's calling to relieve me of my job? What if nothing actually happened last night? Ooh my God, what have I gotten my self into. I can't obviously pick that call. She ponders within herself, getting more agitated.just then, she hears her name which brings her back to the present. "Susan! Susan! It's still ringing."
