"Hmmmmm, let me think about it and get back to you on this note." She says as she chuckles into laughter. She feels wow at her acting skill, though she didn't last long and gave out herself by laughing.
She then says to him. "Okay, you can come pick me up from work. About that, you are coming from your studio outside town. Will you make it on time? Or you plan to close earlier than scheduled?" She asks John out of concern as to how he will get to her work place before she close as he works far.
John smiles and comments, "someone is caring about me." He says in a sweet voice, making a cute face.
"But not to worry, I had a long day already, so I plan to close early today. I will use this opportunity to come pick you up and we catch-up. Like I said, I have something to discuss with you." He explains to her to relief her of the feeling of security and guilt that he might close early because of her.
Susan comments after listening to him. "Alright, you always got things figured out before saying an idea. Your wife will enjoy for sure, don't forget my word. What a thoughtful friend!"
"When you are about to leave the studio, please call me so I can start getting ready and inform my boss on time." She replies to him.
John is happy as it already sorted out that they will meet after work. It shows in his voice that he really can't wait to talk with Susan. Susan can't wait to talk to him. He wishes her well. "Alright, have a great day. Let me fix up the studio before I head out and I wouldn't forget to call you." He responds reassuring her to call. "And yes, put your phone where you can see it so you don't miss my call, unless you want to miss heaven." He jokes with her, putting it to her that she shouldn't miss the call.
Susan laughs out loud at his homely teases and then responds to him. "Alright, I don't want to miss heaven. Neither do I want to miss your call. I really need to meet up with you. So my phone will be on loud speaker and right where I can see it." She tells him in assurance.
They both smile and say a short farewell, as they will be seeing each other soon. Just then, as the call disconnects, she realises that it's not weekend yet. He normally comes back to the city during the weekend. She failed to ask him what they issue is that he is coming back during a weekday but no problems; she concludes when they meet she will ask him.
It's already an hour gone, and she is yet to receive a call from John and she will be getting off work in the next two hours. She looks around her desk to see if there are files she is yet to wax or works yet to allocate to workers. She sees that she is clear about her work, so she takes the opportunity to set out to inform her boss that she won't be going with him after work, as he shouldn't be bothered. Someone will come pick her up.
On a normal ground even without John coming to pick her up she already decided to not always follow Mr Xander in his car, at least for the moment until she sees a change in Ava's behaviour towards her. She knows they're ongoing crisis at the moment and also knows that Mr Xander doesn't want to put her in the middle of the whole problem, not send her far. He would rather bodyguard her than give her a long leg. She doesn't want someone to guard her, though. His caring nature makes him romantic. She would refer that the issue is dealt with as it concerns her two close friends and losing any of them is not an option for her.
Just while she was thinking this and getting ready to go over to her boss's office, she hears the sound of his office door, this leaves her in a state of, "is he around or just stepped out?" She thinks twice then, decides two things: either use the office phone which is connected to all the office or walk straight to his office and see if he is around.
She stands up picking her phone, while standing, she dials the phone number of her Mr Xander's office, using the office phone. It rings and no response. She calls again, still no response. She thought of calling again, but for the sake of courtesy; she leaves the office and heads out to his office. While getting to his office, she stops at Ava's office instead of crossing. She drops by to inquire from her if the boss is around.
From the office structure, Ava's door has a transparent glass tube upper side, so you can see who crosses at anytime. As she enters with a smile on her face. She sits on the chair, drawing it closer to Ava's desk just then. Just then, she whispers as if they are gossiping, stretching her neck as she speaks to her. "Is he in or?" Susan waits to hear her response.
Ava finds it awkward how she is behaving but she asks as she is confused. "Who is he?" In curiosity. Susan hakes her head in disappointment as Ava isn't sharp to grab who she is talking about
"Boss, is he in? I heard his door sound."
"He is in. About the sound, I went to see if he needed anything from me." Ava says to her.
And then, in curiosity, Ava asks Susan. "Any problems? This one you are asking."
Susan answers her frankly, "no problems, just want to see him, that's all. See you later." She says as she stands up, leaving Ava's office.
She knocks twice at Mr Xander door and then in a masculine voice, he speaks out."Who is there, cone in" looking at the door.
"Good day sir, it's me Susan." She says as she opens the door and steps in.
There, Mr Xander stares at her indifferently, without saying a word.
