His nightmare

1028 Words
Rolling from one end of the bed to the other side with his hand dragging the bedsheets and a rushing sweat from his head to his face, showing a great sign of struggle. He quickly rises from the bed with a shout saying "NO" he pants non stop, as the dream he had flashes through his mind. He was in the middle of the road where his parents had an accident which caused their death many years ago, he relived that night in his dream and just as the dream was about to end, he sees a flash of his worst regret in life, his aunty, the mother's elder sister which caused him to shout. Remembering all this tears, fills his eyes and rolling down. As he picks up his side bed towel to wipe off the sweat and tears, he turns on the bed light to check the time. It's just a few minutes past five in the morning. He still has time to sleep before waking up to attend church, as it's Sunday morning. Still afraid and traumatised, he picks up his phone to speak with his sister Ketty. The phone rings once with no response. He dials again, this time around. She picks up. With a panting gesture and fast heartbeat rate, he says to her, "Hello baby sister, sorry to disturb you so early. I had a bed dream again and I can't see to calm down. What do I do?" He exhales heavily. "Calm down, calm down. Alright, breath slowly and listen." She calms him down, trying to make him feel better. She then continues "Are you there big bro? Listen up, there is an anti-depressant drug on the left-hand side of your bed, the first drawer on the side cupboard." "I need you to follow what I am saying. Take out the medicine and drink two capsules with water then lie down back to sleep, alright love. I will call you back to check if you have done as prescribed by your doctor." She says, laughing to brighten up her Xander's mood, which is a fast way of stress relief natural. Before lying down back to the bed, he stretches out his hand pulling his first side cupboard, to take out some stress relief medicine as he was told."Hmmmmm" he exclaims quietly as he says to himself that it's been a long time since he took this stress relief medicine. Not to give it much thought, he drinks it with water that was kept by the bedside. He slips back into bed and five minutes after his so deep asleep. ... It's 7'o'clock ding the alarm rings, it sounds thrice already. Without looking at the clock, he stretches his hands to his side table, struggling to locate the clock. On touching it, he hits the head hard to stop the alarm. Still covered in his Duffer and bedsheet. He rises quietly, resting his back on his bed head, still trying to be awake. Just then, his phone rings and stops. He quickly looks for it, having in mind that it might be his twin sister Ketty and him not answering might get her worried and the next minute she can land in his house. He picks up his phone from under his pillow cover, where he carelessly dropped it early this morning. As he dials the phone number of his sister, ding it rings once she picks up in a hurry, as if she was staring right at her phone, waiting for the call. "Hello my love." He says as she picked to ease her of the worry. "What happened? Why didn't you pick when I called you?" She unleashes as he just listens quietly, but not for too long. "Oh, you don't want to talk. You made me scared, man." "Am I really sorry sis, I was just waking up and trying to organise myself properly while the call came in. Before I could pick up, it stopped ringing." He mutters to her. "Apology accepted. So, did you follow my instructions? And how are you now?" She inquisitively questions him. "Am much better now. I did as you instructed. Thanks so much for answering and giving me a listening ear.–" " I love you plenty, big bro." She happily exclaims, cutting him off before he could complete what he was saying. "I love you more, my love. You are the only family I have and I don't joke with you, no matter what." He confidently says to her as an assurance to his love for her. Ketty immediately realises that the dream he had last night is definitely related to their parents' death and their aunty. As this is the exact way he feels whenever he remembers them. She puts it to him. It's all in the past as what he saw was a night mere and nothing much. She quickly changes the topic to avoid emotional stress for her him. "You see, for waking you up this morning, you have to help me out on something." She says, smiling. Not been able to dodge this one this time around, he concurs to it. "What is it this time? I will help if I can, but if it's out of my reach, I can't guarantee my help." He says, wishing in his heart to not be a hard one to do. "It's very simple my love, help me buy ice cream and chocolate while coming this evening and come an hour early please to help me set the table." She says in an angelic voice so unresistable. With a relief in his heart "It's a deal then, from your favourite store and I will be an hour early." He replies her with assurance to the deal.. I have seen you look at her in a whole different way and I can bear to overlook the thing." "This is because it's your first time looking at a girl like that and in a long time. You seem comfortable with her around. Not to meddle in your personal affairs, I want to sincerely ask." " Do you have feelings for Susan?"
