Staring at Ava for some seconds, Xander smiles with his heart filled with joy because Susan thinks highly of him in all things. At least for letting him know she will be okay and won't be following him home. He is not in the dark as Ava speaks. However, he looks at her and smile, leaving the corridor where Ava has been standing to fill in words into his head. Seeing him walk out with such a smile on his face must have made her look like a fool, and whatever she said had made no impact on him or his thoughts.
Walking back into his office, he listens to side whispers as everyone is busy looking out and those who aren't looking are obviously talking about it right from when John entered the company's reception to inquire about Susan. She is known facially, but not everyone knows her name. As John sat whilst waiting for her, other workers saw him while passing, "Damm... He's cute." One whisper. "You don't say... I wonder who he could be waiting for? If it's she, then she's definitely lucky." The other continued as they gossip their way out.
Though, walking out of the office to go meet John, she is met with the bustling environment. "Awnn. He is here. I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting." She mutters, slowing her pace and breathing as they move out, heading to the car. Just as Susan enters the car and puts on her crossing belt, John, as a gentleman he is asks her before moving.
"Hey, Susan. Ready to go?" John looks at her happily, putting a smile on his face.
It amazed Susan at how he has charmed people into talking about him. She comments in a happy tone as she looks at him, "Definitely! Everyone's been talking about you."
"Really? Why is that?"
She grins with a smile on her face. "Because they can't believe how handsome you are. You made some ladies blush."
John chuckles as he looks at himself and comments on what she said, "I guess I am really a spec. I'm a man on a mission coming here today."
Playfully, she replies to him, "You're always on a mission. So, mission man, what brings you here today?" She asks as she waves a goodbye to Mr Martin, the gatekeeper.
He waits a little to realise where to start from. He then looks at her as he alters out. "Well, I needed someone to really talk with. I couldn't wait till the weekend–"
"Me too. I really needed you to talk to. You just know when I need something so bad." She smiles as she continues to talk. "Thank you, John. You're always such a gentleman and a true friend."
He smiles as he drives and then comments to her. Making her blush. "Anything for my lady, you know." She bunches him on the shoulder. They both leave the office, but even as Mr Xander was leaving the office, he could not stand the whole gossip going around. It made him realize why Susan suggested that they both keep a distance in the office.
"So this is how they will gossip about me and her if we were the ones that left like this." He shakes his head as he increases his step out of the company's building. But deep down in his heart, seeing Susan in a gossip with another guy is unbearable but also knowing the fact it's John, her best friend who he knows, gives him an ease of mind no matter what his head thinks to assimilate.
...
Hearing the gossips around the office between the workers about Susan brought a joyful feeling to Ava as she is sure in her heart that this day was made for her and that whatever happened after work today will leave Susan and the boss far apart and when Mr Xander her boss can't stand it anymore, he will have no choice than to accept her and her undying love for him. She touches her body from up to tummy, as she imagines herself with Mr Xander with love for her in his eyes. Just then, she is interrupted by the tone of the office phone ringing.
Looking at it, it's a call from the gatehouse. She gets the reason he calls. As she packs up to leave the office as it's long past working hours. She leaves, filled with happiness even if she still plans on calling Susan later to continue the gossips that was ongoing about her and John while they left.
...
Still on their way home, just as they both agreed, they drop to their favourite fast-food spot. John knows Susan best and as they need to talk, a good and friendly environment is needed. Susan looks around and sees that he brought her to their favourite place. She hasn't been in a while. She turns in a hurry with joy scripted on her face. She says out without thinking twice. "Johnnie, thank you so much for coming to pick me up. You are the best of best friends. No one can replace you! Though it's been long, you still remember my best." She hugs him just before they step out of the car.
"Don't mention." John smiles, raising his shoulders in pride just after the embrace. He pats her. "No problem, Susan. I know how busy you are. You barely go out unless it's during weekends."
They both get down from the car and, in a hurry, with no delay, she enters the place and heads straight to their favourite spot where they sit to see everyone but no-one sees them. As they settle down right before the call order, Susan sits up as she takes the first initiative to ask. "How was your day and what is that you really want to talk to me about?" She puts her legs together, sitting up to listen to him.
"Let's order something first, then start with the talk. What do you say?" He looks at Susan. The eyes she gives that definitely mean no.
As he smiles, he spills out, "it's quite long, but since you want to know, it's about Ketty, your boss's twin sister, and my day–"
"You mean Miss Ketty?" She cuts him off in an astonished state, with her mouth open in shock.
