What just happened

1027 Words
Hearing the scream coming from Ava, they both realize themselves and immediately separate, pulling off from each other. Mr Xander, shy for the first time. And Susan being embarrassed as it's her first kiss. She hurriedly drops the document on the chair Mr Xander sat on before the incident. She immediately runs out of the office to the staff restroom on their own floor. She didn't even notice Ava as she ran out to talk more about looking at her Mr Xander. As Susan leaves the office, Mr Xander brushes his suite well to relieve himself as he was a little shaken. As he moves to the chair, he picks up the file and then sits back at the chair to examine the file and also waits for Susan to arrive so he can apologize and let her know it was just an accident and nothing much. He would not want to lose a friend like her. Ava draws close to where he sits and then calls on him "Sir, you are still here? Wow... Seems to me you love the office. We could switch yours and her office." As she tries to keep cool about what she just saw, the more the anger increases. She flames up and says things out of the normal mind. "What the hell was that?" she spills out Infront of Mr Xander, staring at him right in the eyes. In a flaming manner as to why she would question him, and she isn't even the girl who was kissed. "Ava, I was just trying to catch her. It was an accident, nothing more, or you would prefer me to sit and see her fall down?" In a sarcastic manner, Ava laughs and exclaims, "Oh sure, an accidental kiss, I see. I saw the way you looked at her, and you want me to believe you see her as a newbie who genuinely admires you?" He replies to her comments in a calm manner to avoid arousing suspicious act among the other workers. "Ava, you're being irrational. Susan is a competent employee, and I treat all my staffs fairly." In an angry voice with tears rolling down her eyes, she can't stop it. She utters. "Fairly? You don't even acknowledge my hard work. But you have no problem showering her with affection in front of everyone. And you say you treat everyone equal? I've been here before her, but still I haven't been treated with anything close to this." "Hmmmmm." Xander, in a rage, stands up from the sit, walks closer to Ava, grabs her in her shoulder and speaks to her directly in the face to calm her down. "Ava, please calm down. I understand you might be feeling jealous, but that's no reason to take it out on me. Yes, my friendship with Susan has grown, but we are still friends and whatever you saw today was an accident. Nobody planned it." She chuckles, laughing at him as she removes his hands from her body. She then whispers into his ear quietly. "Jealous? You've got to be kidding me. I'm not jealous. I'm just disgusted that you would use Susan's feelings for you to stroke your own ego." She stands firm as she mutters such words. "Did you just say use?!" He looks at her with a filled up rage, can't control it. He raises his hands but restrains himself from committing the act of a woman beater. Firmly, he mutters with lots of anger. "That's enough, Ava. I won't tolerate this kind of behavior in my company. If you can't control your emotions, I suggest you take the rest of the day off. Stop acting so evil. You are an exquisite young lady. There is no guy that wouldn't kill to you." "What a word. So why can't you be that guy? Except I embarrass myself. It's okay, sir. I understand." She takes out some tissues on Susan's desk and cleans her tear, then steps out of Susan's office to her own office. ... "I'm so sorry." Susan mutters as she bumps into Mr Martin, the gatekeeper. But still didn't stop accelerating either. He quickly calls out to Susan. "Hey! Are you okay?! Madam Susan. Is there a situation inside the building that is making you run in this manner?!" Breathing so heavily, Susan pause for a moment to regain her full fit. She looks at the gatekeeper and mutters to his hearing. "Help! A sit please." Immediately, he rushes and gets a sit for her to seat down and when she was down. He asks her, "Take your time. Do you want me to get you some water or something?" Looking at him gratefully, she alters to him. "That would be great, sir, thanks. I just need to." Her deep breaths. "I need to move on from this and focus on work." "Are you okay? Or you are–" Mr Martin questions her in curiosity. He looks at her closer, observing no abnormalities. Nodding her head to say something, "Yeah, I don't think so. I just need to catch my breath and calm down. Thanks so much sir for the water. You just saved a soul." The gate keeper goes back into his quarters, leaving Susan outside to regain herself. Few minutes later Susan rests her head on the wall, closes her eyes to calm herself down. She receives a tap on her shoulder. As soon as she opens her eyes to see who it is, the sun's ray covers her vision. She adjusts from where she was then looked up again and behold, it's Mr Xander. As he stretches his hand to her to stand up from the chair, she looks at him for a while, then accepts the help. But on taking a step, she looks up and then her eyes meet with Ava's. Ava's stern eyes, so piercing down to Susan's heart like that of a devourer. She removes her hands from that of Mr Xander and looks him in the eye. "I want to ask you a question, sir, and you must answer me. What is going on with you and miss Ava?"
