The longer the police chase lasted, Femi knew there would be a greater chance of a police chopper getting involved. Seeing a turn-off for an expressway coming up, Femi turned onto it and drove the wrong way, straight into on-coming traffic. One of his many criminal acquaintances had once confided in him that the absolute best way to get away from the police in a car chase was to endanger the public. The reason being, he said, was because the police are paid to protect the public, and if their actions actually endanger them, then they're meant to back off, which is why shoot-outs in the movies during a car chase very rarely happen.
