When Ethan woke up the next morning, he found himself lying on the living room sofa with a warm blanket draped carefully over his shoulders. The smell of fresh coffee and toasted bread filled the air. He sat up slowly, feeling significantly better, the intense pain in his stomach completely gone. He walked into the kitchen and found Aria standing by the stove, her hair tied in a messy bun, wearing a simple oversized sweater. She was humming a quiet tune while cooking. The scene looked incredibly domestic—something Ethan had never experienced in his life. "You should be resting," Aria said without turning around, hearing his footsteps. "I made you some plain porridge and herbal tea. It's gentle on the stomach." Ethan stood at the entrance of the kitchen, staring at her. "My personal assistant usually handles my meals when I'm sick." "Well, your personal assistant isn't here at seven in the morning," Aria replied, turning around with a warm smile, placing the hot bowl on the table. "Sit down and eat, Ethan. It's a command from your fake wife." Ethan sat down slowly, taking a spoonful of the warm food. It tasted delicious, far better than the expensive restaurant meals he usually ordered. As he ate, he watched Aria move around the kitchen, cleaning up the mess from the night before. An unusual warmth began to bloom inside his chest, a feeling he found completely terrifying. "Thank you, Aria," he said quietly, his voice genuine. "For last night. And for this." Aria paused, looking back at him. Her heart gave a sudden, strange flutter at the softness in his tone. "You're welcome, Ethan. Just promise me you'll start taking care of yourself. Money can buy everything, but it can't buy a new body." "I'll try," Ethan murmured.
