A little walk

404 Words
I tried looking around the place. What the bits and pieces of the moonlight showed me were a muddy floor, a b****y cloth ,-probably mine, and a wooden stick. I crawled towards the stick. And what a crawl that was! I don't know about you, but I would certainly pity one built-as-a-horse crawling worse than a new born baby. That little distance I covered felt like forever. Finally I reached that damned thing, and got my jelly legs up. To this point my eyes somehow got a little familiar with the place. It was some kind of a small cave or something, grasses and saplings are everywhere with wetty atmosphere. The moonlight was coming from the three openings a little bit above. There was no other opening around the cave as far as I could see,- which means I must have fallen (or was thrown, who knows!) from one of the openings above. I limped slowly towards the cave-wall as carefully as I can, but sharp knives of pain were cutting me like butter everytime I tried to move my body. But, somehow I reached the wall. As I felt it, wet mosses covered the wall which must be the reason of the damp environment. Some sharp and broken edges were protruding here and there which were hard as stone. "Do you want to try it out?" my own voice sounded weird to myself. "Why not, give it a try, you lame-horse." I felt like a madman talking ang joking with myself. But, it still provided the necessary distraction from the unknown fear that had started to devour me like a spider. Holding the stick with one hand I griped one protruding edge high up and let go of my lifeline,-my stick. I steadied myself and started reaching for the next broken edge to my left. Small stones and saplings on the wall pricked my skin but I went on slowly and steadily. I reached for another grip, but the fortune was shining on me! I edge broke and I fell. What a marvellous feeling that was. When everything let go of you but gravity still hold on! The hard ground bellow cut my bliss very short. The darkness was calling me. And I will answer to this call. Finally I would get the much needed rest form the pain and tiredness which were holding me so tightly from the moment I woke up. Goodbye!
