Chapter One: Kpeju

She laid down still and breathless on her bed trying to figure out the meaning of the dream she just had that night when she heard a knock on her door.
"Kpeju! open this door" her father shouted. She was surprised the way he shouted her name that early in the morning, so she rushed to open the door only to discover that she was stack naked again. "What is all these? she asked herself in whispers as different thoughts ran through her mind, she stopped thinking when she remembered that someone was at her door, so she hurriedly wore her clothes that were on the floorand rushed to open the door.
" Good morning Daddy" she greeted her father.
Dr. Wilfred, a man in his morning thirties stared at his daughter and wondered what must have made her waste a lot of time before opening the door, " What were you doing inside your room and why are you waking up by this time? Do you know you are late for school? Dr. Wilfred asked his puzzled daughter. The questions hutted her like bomb and she remained quiet because she had nothing to say, she turned and looked at the clock and to her surprise it was already 7:30am and it bothered her so much as she realized that she will be late for school the second time in the week and the thought that she will be punished for coming late sent shivers down her spine.
" Please Daddy , am sorry I overslept, I didn't know it's morning already" she explained to her father coldly while her head faced down, she avoided her father's eyes staring directly into hers, and she felt so had for making him angry with her that early in the morning.
"Go now and take your bath, hurry up!" Dr. Wilfred said and tapped her back. She rushed to the bathroom, took her bath and her father hurriedly dropped her in School.
