Kpeju (Episode4)

Days turned to weeks and months, the nightmares and pythons kept disturbing Kpeju and each in different phases. One month passed and all of a sudden, Kpeju stopped having her menses, she was scared that she could be pregnant but yet she didn't tell Fatimat and the fact that she was young and still a virgin, gave her hopes that she is fine. " Everything is fine" She would say to herself when negative thought arose or when. she felt like talking to Fatimat about it.

Two months had passed, and Kpeju never woke up to see her father in the morning before going to School and this was due to Dr. Wilfreds busy schedule at work; Sometimes when she slept at might with her night attires on, she woke up in the morning without them, it's either she will be stack naked or she will be sweating profusely, In most mornings, Fatimat will have to push her room door open just to wake Kpeju up to prepare for School and each time this happens, Fatimat noticed the way Kpeju sweated and the way she was naked Everytime. Sometimes, Fatimat stood on a spot for a while wondering what usually happens in Kpejus room that makes her behave that way when she wakes up in the morning.

On a Saturday morning, Fatimat woke up more early today than usual, she was supposed to wake Kpeju up so the both of them can clean up the house and take their dirty clothes to the dry cleaners, but Fatimat had a second thought, and allowed Kpeju to rest, so she started with the cleaning and decided to wake Kpeju up later. After Fatimat had done all the cleaning and house chores, Kpeju was still not awake,it was exactly 12:30pm so Fatimat decided to push the door open again only to see a bug python crawling out of Kpejus room and she ran outside. Fatimat tiptoed into the house few minutes later and saw Kpeju in the sitting room eating rice and stew and this made Fatimat shocked, thoughts ran through her mindas she wondered if Kpeju was possessed. " Good morning Aunty Fati" Kpeju greeted Fatimat who just stared at her and ran upstairs into her room. Fatimats action that afternoon surprised Kpeju, she knew she woke up late but that wouldn't have been the reason for Fatimat to behave that way and didn't respond to her greetings, she continued eating and didn't know what she did wrong to Fatimat that made her act that way.
