"Thank you, Lexi. Don't worry, I will," she replied and I smiled. I backed away and David immediately approached my sister . She anchored her arm around the young man's arm. I watched them walk into the altar. Just after a few seconds, I felt someone behind me. "They look good together, right?" The voice said. I didn't respond. Yes, I feel jealous towards my sister. But who am I to feel this way? I'm just a one night person. I lost my virginity in one night. But I do not regret that because Kai came into my life. He colored my colorless world. "Are you planning to be a bride someday?" I heard his another question. I sighed. "Everyone wishes," I replied. "Everyone wishes to be married with the one they love and live a happy life," he added and I smile sadly. "Why are you sad?" Because I can't be on every bride's shoes. I want to say it loudly but I just choose to keep it for myself. "I'm happy," I answered instead. Another one big lie in whole life. "That's not what your face shows," He said. I'm not sad. I'm just disappointed to myself because I can't give my son a happy family like anybody has. The father of my son is now marrying my sister in front of me. Can someone tell me how to be happy in this kind of situation? Because honestly? I really don't know what to feel and what to do anymore. I'm hurting for myself but I'm more hurting for my innocent son. I stayed where I was. As a maid of honor, I need to stay within arm's reach of the bride. She may need something like tissue, body pins and so on. After saying their vows, a boy approached carrying the pillow on which the wedding ring was placed. He immediately stepped closer and accepted the heart -shaped pillow. My sister also handed me her bouquet. And David took the ring. I chose to look away. I don't want our vision to meet. Seeing him would only take me back to my past, and I don't like it. They face each other. My sister is smiling while David isn't. His face was blank and no emotion could be seen in his eyes. Shouldn't he be happy today? "Though we have heard the vows, which have shared by the bride and groom, words, once spoken are carried away on the wind. Therefore, the wedding ring is a visible symbol of the promises that have been made," David took my sister Reshan's right hand. He placed the ring on my sister's finger. "Reshan, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. This will be a sign that I will love you today, tomorrow, and forever," he said. Like what you're seeing, Lexi? Because of your flirtation, you fell for the wrong person. You can't just blame the alcohol for losing your hymen. It's your own fault, I thought to myself. My sister did the same thing. She took the ring from the pillow and put it on David's finger. I took a step back to my place and watched them. Everyone applauded at the same time as their lips met. I forced myself to smile and clapped my hands as I shouted 'congratulations'. The maid of honor and best man were called to sign the marriage contract as witnesses. Bryle and I approached immediately. After signing, they decided to take a picture. I forced myself to smile and nodded my head. We stood on the large church flatform with my parents and David’s Aunts and Uncles. I was surprised upon realization hit me, I didn't see his parents. He get married without his parents. They should be here, right? I mean, they are the groom's parents, they should be here. "Stop frowning, Lexi. We're taking a picture. Smile." Mommy said. I sneezed before smiling at the camera. The camera man counted to one up to three before the camera flashed. I wanted to close my eyes because of the camera flash, but I stopped it. I'm getting used to enjoying the flash of camera because I'm a previous model. During my books signing also abroad, dazzling camera flashes are inevitable and annoying. "Lexi..." my sister called me. "Let's take a picture together," she said. I was forced to smile and grabbed my gown to walk. Mommy and Daddy leaned over and supported me to get closer to my sister's place. I saw David took a step back. I smiled at him before I got closer to my sister. She immediately wrapped her right arms on my waist and I also did the same to her. She smiled towards the camera, and so I did the same. I forced myself to extend the smile to my eyes. I'm good at pretending after all. "Complete family!" My sister exclaimed. I laughed softly at my sister's hyper. Mommy and Daddy climbed in the flatform with a smile. I scratched my neck so hard and rolled my eyes. I can feel someone staring at me. My eyes landed on David next to Bryle speaking. I guess they were talking? But why is he staring at me? "Lexi?" My sister called my name, trying to get my attention. I quickly turned at her and there I realized, she were already positioned with our Mommy and Daddy. I held my sister's hand and squeezed it lightly as I look at the camera man. I feel like my sister is wondering what I’m doing but I killed maliciously. The camera man counted again from one up to three . We give our smiles. After the camera flash, I was about to leave the flatform when my sister stopped me by tightening the grip on my hand tightly. "This will be the last. With maid of honor and the best man. And David of course," she said. I fake my smiled at my sister. I took a deep breath as I nodded my head. Bryle and David's attention was called as they were talking to go up here at my sister's place. David went to my sister's left side since I'm on her right side. Bryle followed David and took his place to the right of the groom. My sister let go of my hands as her husband placed his arms on her waist. I bit my lower lip to hide the sadness that is creeping in my eyes. I don't want anyone to read how I feel right in that moment. I'm hurting to see him do like that but I can't do anything. So, instead of looking at his wrapped hands on my sister's waist, I chose to look at the camera to show my tight smile. I smile. Pretending that I'm happy where in fact, I'm slowly dying inside. Just the thought of seeing my love, doing some sweet movements on my sister, on his wife is killing me. "One, two, three," The camera man counted and a flash of light followed. "Sister," I softly call her to get her attention. "I'll go down now. You two should take a picture together," I said. I give my best to smile at my sister. I feel jealous at her for having the man I love as her husband. "Okay," she answered and smiled happily. Bryle approached me. He offered his hands infront of me with a wide smile on his face. "May I?" he said. "Dance with you?" I said and smiled fuelly. He chuckled. "Nice try, Lexi." he said smiling. "Thanks, Bryle," I said and also chuckled as I accepted his hands. He supports me until I get off the flatform. When I got down, we just let go of each other's hands. "Your hands were so soft," he said. "I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you," I answered and smiled. "Ahm... " he scratched his nape as if he embarrassed at whatever he was going to say. "Can I get your number? I'll take you out to have a coffe during our free time?" he asked. I smiled and lend my hand. "Phone," I said. He immediately pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and placed it in my out stretched hand. I smiled and typed my mobile number on his phone. "Here," I said and handed it back to him, just as Adele had arrived next to me. "Hey, what's that?" Bryle looked at us maliciously. Bryle let out a soft chuckle as he pointed David and my sister's direction. "I have to go. Just follow me to the reception," I nodded my head and give him a tight smile. "Okay," I answered. "Thanks, by the way," He said as he waved his phone. I guess that thank you was for the mobile number. I mouthed 'welcome' and smiled again. Adele kissed me and narrowed her eyes. "What was that,Lexi? You just got home, yet you've been fishing," I laughed softly. "Silly," I said. "Let's not go to the reception anymore," she said with a frown. I grinned and put my arm around her. "When are you going to work hard, Adele? It's already been five years since I've left but you're still lazy. You're still a bridesmaid. You should be there," I said. She rolled her eyes at me before wrapped her arm around my waist. "I really miss you, witch. That night, when you suddenly disappeared from the bar. I just heard that you're going to fly to Japan the next day. I must be sulking," she said but I just chuckled. "Then, If you're sulking, why are you hugging me?" I asked and raised my eyebrow. "I'm still mad with you, but I missed you so hug me first," she said while hugging me. "Lexi!" I heard Mommy call my name. "Yes, Mom? I'm coming... " I said. I broke away from Adele's hug and said goodbye to her before approaching my Mom. "Why, Mom?" I asked. "Here's the schedule..." she said and handed me a small notebook. "There's a time when cake slicing, you need to feed the bride and the groom. I didn't let your sister eat before we come here because maybe the gown won't fit her. And then, you'll still need to help your sister for the take off," Every word that my Mom says, I'm just giving her a nod. Really? Feed the bride and groom? Can't they just do it by themselves? "Yes, Mom," I answered. I know, there's nothing I can't do but to face them. I need to accept the fact that he's already married now to my own sister. My long time crush is already tie the knot with my own sister. Somehow, I feel betrayed by destiny. "When do you plan to give us a grandson and granddaughter?" my Mom suddenly asked which surprised me. "What?" I wonder back question. "When are you getting married? Darling, you're already twenty-eight and you're not getting any younger. And now your sister is married. And everyone is already expecting a child from them. What about you? You don't even have a plan to introduce your boyfriend to us? I still want to see my grandchildren running around the mansion," I smiled raw and scratched my nape. "Mommy, of course. I just come home from abroad and that's the kind of question you have? I don't have any boyfriends, Mom. And not planning to have one," I said as a matter of fact. Mommy's right eyebrow rose. Completely not convince with my answer. "You don't have any boyfriend? Why?" she asked. I tightened my grip on the small notebook I was holding. "Because no one has made a mistake to me yet?" I said and laughed dryly. "Oh, silly..." my Mom said before took our distance and touched my cheek. "You're beautiful, Lexi. You can find someone for you. Just open your heart and stop being workcholic. Give your self a break, darling," she said smiling. "I don't need those, Mom. I want to focus on my work first," I said. I wanted to add the name of my son but stop myself. She doesn't know about him. About my little secret. "You're already successful, darling. Take care of your love life now, my daughter. I don't want you to grow old as a young woman. Just two of you we have. You and your sisters, we wants a grandchild from you two," I didn't reply at what my Mom said. I just smiled at her and Daddy called us just in time. I'm not that closed to my parents. I'm not a Daddy 'girl nor Mom's. I'm nobody's. I feel even closer to my sister than to them. She is the one I have been with at home for how many years while Mom and Dad are on the other country for business. She's all I have but not anymore because starting today, she will be with the man I love the most. She's with the father of my son.
