It was a few days and few 3 am conversations with Daniel later that Paige found herself at Emma’s place, who had invited her and Chloe over for dinner.
Emma’s mother was an amazing cook, who unfortunately hadn’t passed the genes down to Emma. They had dinner with Emma’s parents, who had now gone to bed, leaving the three of them alone in the dining area.
“You guys wanna sleep here tonight?” Emma asked, knowing Paige’s answer, but trying nevertheless.
Paige hated denying their offer every time, but she had no choice. Emma’s place was further away from the café and Paige knew she’d force them into a watching a late night movie. “I’ve got an early shift tomorrow, I’m so sorry.”
“When do you even sleep, man?” Chloe inquired. “11 pm?”
