Skye’s POV Ezra turned the lights off the second that door creaked open somewhere in the bunker. The room went dark instantly. I could only hear our breathing and the way his body shifted near the bed. “Stay still,” he whispered. His hand found mine in the dark and squeezed once. Then he pulled a drawer open, and I heard the sound of metal clicking. He’d just pulled out a gun from a spot I never knew existed. Footsteps moved through the outer rooms slowly and carefully, getting closer until they stopped right outside our door. I held my breath until my chest burned.
