Becky’s eyes fluttered open slowly. Her eyelids felt heavy, as if weighed down by dumbbells. The same heaviness seemed to wrap itself around her limbs, making the slightest twitch feel like a mammoth task. The state of her brain wasn’t any better. Becky blinked and tried to make sense of where she was and what had happened to her, but all she got was a fuzzy view of what looked like a small, poorly lit bedroom and a headache for her efforts that made her groan and close her eyes for a moment before she tried again. Disoriented didn’t begin to describe the state she was in.
