“What are you doing here?” Becky demanded, her voice laced with suspicion. Her eyes darted around, not sure what to expect, but her skin tingled as though trouble lurked in the shadows just waiting to attack her.
“Like I said. We need to talk, Becky,” Cole stated firmly.
“Don’t!” Becky’s voice carried a fierce edge as she aggressively raised a finger in the air. Every muscle in her body went tense, as though ready to spring into the air and do some serious damage, preferably to the man who had caused her beautiful day to turn into a living nightmare.
She should have been home, cooking for Roman and waiting for him to come home and finish what he started that morning. Instead, she was wandering in the park with her life practically falling to pieces right before her eyes.
