‘You’re in so much s**t when you get home.’ ‘Whatever.’ ‘So who was the chick?’ ‘Keira Blackwood.’ ‘Holy s**t you sure know how to pick 'em, Chrissy.’ ‘I’m not the only one.’ ‘So the twins do too?’ ‘Unfortunately.’ ‘She’s very pleasant.’ He laughed. ‘Have you ever met her?’ ‘Not long ago. she was very polite.’ ‘That’s a first. I think she f*****g hates us.’ ‘Like they say there’s a thin line between love and hate.’ ‘Whatever.’ ‘Hey.’ The three of them chimed twins said. Sliding in closing the door. ‘Where the hell have you two been?’ ‘Wouldn’t you like to know?’ ‘Stop being so cocky. You little shit.’ They laughed and Alex pulled away. He'd let their parents deal with them. Aubrey will be pissed to know Christian was fighting again. The twins were the first to be dropped off then we rode in silence. I preferred it that way listening to the heavy rock playing in the background slothed me. ‘We’re here Christian.’ Urgh my dad was so going to scold me I knew the head by now he would call him the moment I was out of his office, I f*****g hated that prick. The car door opened and I slowly got out. ‘Good luck kid you’re gonna need it.’ ‘Mmh.’ I hummed walking. With my head held high my dad stood at the door now in his late fifties he still held his Mafia Ora. ‘You’re in so much s**t young man.’ Yep, the prick called my dad. ‘I can explain dad.’ ‘You can explain in my office.’ ‘Sure dad.’ He looked at Alex and nodded who nodded back before getting into the car and pulling away to park it. I closed the door following dad into his office. ‘Sit down son.’ I sat opposite him in the large leather chair. He sat across from me behind his desk leaning back. ‘So tell me Christiano why did you get into a fight today? Again May I add?’ ‘He had it coming, dad.’ ‘And why was that?’ ‘He insulted my friend.’ ‘I think any friends of yours can take care of themselves.’ So the asshole prick didn’t mention Keira what a f*****g surprise. ‘You told me to show respect to women dad.’ He shot forward in his chair. ‘Continue.’ ‘She didn’t deserve his comments; they were rude. Obnoxious and damn right degrading. She’s my friend and she didn’t deserve the sexiest comments coming out of his mouth.’ ‘I see what did he say exactly?’ ‘I’d rather not repeat them.’ ‘They must’ve been bad.’ ‘They were.’ ‘So this girl you were defending, who is she?’ ‘Keira Blackwood.’ ‘I see. Her father will be glad to know she has a decent friend like you. I’m proud of you son.’ ‘So you’re not angry with me?’ ‘I was, but I wasn’t told the whole story. But please restrain from fighting at school Christiano you’re walking on thin ice and if you get expelled I have no other choice than to get you home tutored and you won’t see you’re cousins or your new friend again.’ I couldn’t let that happen. I needed to protect her. I saw how the girls looked at her, how the guys drooled all over her. She was mine I saw her first and if it took all year for her to gain my trust and fall for me so be it. No one was going to get in the way, especially the twins. I had to keep my anger at bat for now until after we left school anyway. I had to keep in the head teachers' good books till I finished year eleven. I could do it. I had to do it, no one was going near her, but me. ‘I’ll try my best dad, I promise.’ He nodded. ‘You are free to go. I have work to complete.’ ‘Sure dad.’ ‘This will be your business one day to son don’t let me down.’ ‘I won’t dad. I promise.’ He smiled. I pulled myself up opened the office door stepped out, and closed it I leapt up the stairs into my room, jumped into my bed put my headphones in and listened to my music. “I promise to protect you Keira always. You’re mine and only mine. You may not realise it yet but you are.”
