Love is the answer
Felix didn’t know Aimee well enough to go to the back door, so he walked around to the front and rang the bell. He stood there, scratching his head, and his mind started to wander.
“Why hello there, Felix!” Aimee said. “Please, come in. I was just about to make some iced coffee. Would you like some?”
Aimee’s friendliness made Felix a little uncomfortable. After all, everyone minded their own business in this neighborhood. You could never be too careful about other people.
“I guess that would be okay,” he said. “Have you seen Natalie? I thought she might be here. Her car’s in the driveway, but she’s not in her office.”
“Maybe she went for a walk,” Aimee said. “I’m sure she’s fine.”
