Chapter 11- Seeing Home Again

After a few more minutes I let John Luke know I wanted to change back. Mrs. Sheehan grabbed John Luke's clothes and the three of them stepped out of the room allowing me privacy again.

I looked down again before shifting back seeing the brilliant white paws yet again. My mind raced with dozens of questions and wondering how my life had changed so much in such a short amount of time.

"Everything has a reason Sadie" Mai's voice spoke in my head " we have a great purpose for our people"

"Our people?" I questioned her as I focused on shifting back.

"Yes Sadie our people, our pack, our kind and John Luke will be by our side for it all." she answered as I shifted and put my clothes back on.

"If you say so Mai" I told her as I walked back to the door to let John Luke and his parents back in. I could hear them talking on the other side of the door in hushed tones.

"I knew we needed to keep her safe before just because of who she is but after seeing her wolf there is no doubt. Murphy's all have powers and I have a feeling hers are the best yet." I could hear Mr. Sheehans voice through the door before opening it.

"Is everything okay?" I asked hesitantly as they all turned to look at me standing in the doorway.

"Oh yes dear no worries" Mrs. Sheehan answered me quickly while looking between her husband and son.

I looked between the three new people in my life and internally hoped that I could trust them. "Don't worry Sadie" I could hear Mai's voice clearly "your mate and his family can be trusted"

John Luke took a step towards me gently taking my hand in his "How are you taking it all?" he asked.

"It is overwhelming and honestly I can't believe it but I guess it explains some things" I laughed.

We all shuffled back into the conference room to continue talking about my parents and about how I had been raised in the human world.

"So what do I do know?" I asked unsure of how to ask what came next " how do I explain to my dad what has happened? What do I tell Kate and my friends?" tears stung at the corners of my eyes as I thought about everything that was going to change for me and how I was going to leave the only family I had ever known.

John Luke wrapped his arms around me and I breathed in his scent slowly relaxing into his embrace.

"Well since you applied for the internship that makes it a little easier" John Luke spoke up first "you just tell everyone you stopped by the firm to check on the application and you were accepted and they wanted you to start right away"

"Okay but I have no where to live and I won't until school starts in a few months" I replied still stressed.

"Well the internship could come with housing if needed" Mrs. Sheehan quickly added.

"Kate knows I like you John Luke if she tells Dad I am running across the state for a boy it will destroy him." I said tears forming in my eyes "I barely understand this mate bond myself how do I explain it without saying oh the wolf inside of me is drawn to him" tears freely fell at this point. I felt John Luke cup my face in his hand as he slowly whipped the tears from my face and kissed my forehead.

"We will figure it out together Sadie I promise you" he said hugging me tight to his chest.

"I am more than happy to call your father and explain everything that has happened" Mr. Sheehan spoke up at this point, " I can tell him about you getting the internship and about your parents. Maybe he will take it better from another father"

"That might work" I said sniffling a small smile reaching my face.

"How about we go to the pack lands and we can work out some details before you going back with your friends tonight" John Luke suggested.

I agreed to this and send Kate a text.

*Hey going to John Luke's parent house they invited me to dinner to show me pictures and tell me more about my family*

*Okay sis stay safe and keep me updated. We are having a great time with his friends*

*Will do see you later tonight. Thank you for letting me do this I know it can't be easy"

*You don't have to thank me Sadie I know that if I were in your shoes I would want answers too*

I left our conversation at that and agreed to go see the pack lands with John Luke and his parents. We loaded up into John Luke's truck and headed for the pack his parents explaining that our pack, The Blue Moon Pack, was one of the largest in North America. After driving about 30 minutes deep into the mountains via backroads we came to a large gate and were greeted by another young person probably about my age that stepped out to meet our truck.

"Hey Alpha, Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan!" the guy exclaimed before his eyes landed one as John Luke rolled down his window.

"Hey Jack" John Luke replied back "you are to tell no one about our visitor here and I do mean no one"

"You got it Alpha" Jack responded as John Luke rolled up the window and turned towards me driving through the now open gate.

"Why did he call you Alpha? Is that like a nickname or something?" I questioned the car in confusion.

A chuckle came from the other occupants of the truck and they said they would explain once we reached Mr. and Mrs. Sheehan's home.

As we drove even further down a winding gravel road the forest opened up to reveal a small town and neighborhoods that surrounded it. I could see dozens of small quaint homes off this main road with more roads going deeper in the forest.

Mai purred in my head as we saw people walking around the town before us "Home we are finally home among our people again"
