The previously quiet place was enveloped in noise from the crowd of people who can't wait to watched the most awaited race competition of the year. Skye couldn't believe that so many people wanted to watch, she couldn't help but feel nervous. This is the first formal competition she has participated in. Where almost of the participants looked well versed on this kind of sport. She wiped the sweat on her forehead using the back of her hand as she glanced at the other racers. It was already two forty five in the afternoon, fifteen minutes before the competition will officially start. She bounces her leg repeatedly as she sat on the chair. She's been unaware of it until a hand landed on her leg and stop her. She immediately turned her gaze towards the person on her left. "Just calm down." Violet said in a surprisingly soft and calm voice. The younger woman didn't even replied yet when Violet pulled her hand away from her leg and crossed her arms. Her legs were also crossed while her eyes were close. She looked like she was just sleeping. Skye frowned at her, she didn't know how Violet could do it, relaxing even with the deafening noise around her. Well actually, she had been wondering about her behavior for a while now. She's been acting weird since the moment they encountered Jackson and up until now. She's not leaving Skye's side since then even though the latter would go to the restroom. She would wait outside for her to finish her business. She can't even eat well under her gaze when they took a lunch from the nearest diner. Skye sighed. She didn't know what's up with Violet. Unbeknownst to her, Violet was guarding her against a paticular person. The possessive Alpha was trying to keep her mate if ever Jackson will have an intention to disturb her again. As of now, she's focusing her sense of hearing to alert her of his every move. She doesn't care about the competition now, all she cared was Skye. ------------------------------------------------------- "Where are they?" Seamus asked as soon as they took their seats. They just arrived and they were lucky to have some vacant seats despite of the amount of people who were here now. All of them were trying to spot the auburn haired among the other riders. "There they are." Eric said pointing at the two ladies who were sitting at the riders designated seats below. They had their backs on them but he knew it was them. "Wow. I can't believe they're really were competing. I'm so excited to watch them to kick some asses." Seamus chuckled. "Can I still go to them? I wanna cheer her up before it will start. " Piper suddenly asked, specifically to Vanessa who was sitting from her right. But the blue eye didn't even answered her. She's been quiet since they left Maddison's house. Her gaze were only focused on the two persons who were sitting so close to the each other. "I think you can't now. The competition will start any minute." Eric, who sat next to Dean, to seats away from her answered her instead. "You can just go there and call her. She will hear you. " Dean suggested when he saw how desperately Piper wanted to talk to her friend. He always had a soft spot for their youngest, so all of them were not surprised if he talk nice to her. "Okay." Piper replied as she stood up on her seat. She hurriedly but carefully walked down the bleachers. She stop when she reached the end nearest to where Skye sat and called out to her through the mesh wire. It only took her two attempts when Skye heard her and turned around. She was confused at first to whoever called her but when she recognized Piper standing at the end of the bleachers aisle, a bright smile escaped on her lips. She immediately stood up and run towards her. "You're here." She said, looking up to where Piper was. She didn't know if they came her intentionally to support her or they just wanted to watch. "Yeah. I'm with the squad!" Piper delightfully replied back and pointed to where her friends sat. Skye turned her gaze to them. She saw Seamus right away. Exaggeratedly waving his hand out to her and she waved back with a wide smile. While Vanessa just gave her a timid smile and a nod. "Why didn't you said you'll gonna compete? You're so unfair!" Piper shouted back. There was a little frown on her face and Skye suddenly felt guilty for not telling them. "I'm sorry, Violet just invited me yesterday. It was so sudden that I forgot to tell you guys!" Skye shouted back. It didn't really crossed her mind to tell them. "Okay. Apology accepted!" Piper replied with a wide grin. She was about to say another word when a hand gently grab her arm. She turned around to faced Violet. "It's starting." The latter said. ------------------------------------------------------- Skye tightened her grip on the handle bars as she waited for the cue. She tied her hair to clear her sight. And even she's wearing a helmet, she can still hear the crowd's loud cheering. Although it can't cover up the sound of the rapid beating of her heart. She was the first to race among the two of them and she was silently praying she will not failed. She took a deep breath for ninth time and glanced up towards her friends from the crowd. She can't quite hear what they were shouting but she knew they were cheering for her. And it brought a smile to her lips even just for a few seconds. Then her gaze landed on Violet who was patiently waiting beside the lane. She was already looking at Skye's direction and she gave her a nod when she knew her mate was looking at her. As soon as the first riders finishes their laps, the next will automatically start theirs. Jackson was among the second riders and Skye was very grateful she won't compete with him. She might lost her focused if he will be there with her. A green flag was raised and all of the first racers started their engines. All of the participants had a badass motorbikes. Although it's not a basis to win the competition, she's hoping that Violet's Ducati will participate well with her. All were set and ready now. And when the green flag sets down and the starter's gun was fired, Skye drove as fast as she could with determination. Focusing her mind and body for one goal. To win.
