Ch. 9 - Mistake or Not
Riley's POV
My dreams were filled with the sexy man I laid next to. I never been so satisfied in bed before and I knew I never would again.
I watched this large, strong man sleep peacefully by my side. He was flat on his back sprawled out on the bed and head tilted towards me.
My body pressed close to his side, my feet rubbing slowly on his leg, while my fingers traced his impressive eight pack. How much did he work out to keep these bad boys?
I still felt a strong need to please him. It was so strange to feel this way, but I had a plane to catch and I couldn't stay any longer. Besides, I've been caressing his body for an hour and he barely stirred. He would be passed out for most the day.
I should be happy that he didn't wake up so we didn't have to have the awkward "I'll call you sometime" moment, knowing in reality we would never speak again. I gave him a small kiss on his lips then peeled myself from his side. I gathered my clothes and couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to have a man like him everyday.
A strong husband to protect and love me. A father to our many children because we couldn't keep our hands off each other. I giggled thinking of this beast of a man playing with little kids. He would probably step on them by accident.
I gave his body one last glance over biting my lip. He would definitely be in my dreams many nights for the rest of my life. I walked out of the bedroom and straight to the elevator. I didn't bother to leave a note. What was the point? He lived in Chicago and I was moving to Seattle. This was one hell of a layover.

When I arrived to my apartment I was greeted by every staff member I walked by. It was oddly nice and if I wasn't so tired I would of engaged more with each person that said "hi".
I didn't want to be my old self that closed everyone out, like I was in New York. It would be an adjustment, but one I was willing to make.
"Ms. Parker, I have been expecting you. My name is Brandon and I'm the concierge of this complex. Mr. Brookstone informed us of your arrival from New York and to make you feel at home. If there is anything you need at any time I'm here or you can call me." A tall gentleman handed me his card then pointed to the number at the bottom.
"This is all so much. I really appreciate it and thank you! Right now, I desperately need to get some sleep though. It has been a very long trip." I tried not to blush thinking of the many ways I over exerted myself last night, or I should say how Liam pushed my body to new limits.
"Of course. I'll show you to your new home. This way." The young man with shaggy light brown hair and a cute red bell hop outfit on guided me to a set of two elevators.
Brandon held the door and waved for me to enter. He was the perfect gentleman with kind eyes that had me melting. I wasn't overly attracted to him, but more felt safe. Every one of his words seemed to be sincere and his presence was confident and strong.
"These two elevators are the only ones that go to the top fifteen floors. It's a way to keep them more available and easier to monitor everyone's safety. You need your pin to get to your floor and this pin you chose will be for access to your door as well. Mr. Brookstone has converted much of this apartment complex to smart homes. The residents seem to have taken to the change very well so far."
I smiled at him, listening intently to every word. I felt like I was in way over my head with all this. I'm from New York, but my apartment was barely larger then a studio and a prayer was what kept us safe at night.
"Thank you, Brandon. I never lived in a smart home before. It's very exciting. So far Seattle has been nothing short of amazing. I can't wait to see more of the city and start my new job." I clapped my hands together with a deep breath. I was getting overly excited and needed to bring it down a bit until Brandon was gone.
"I'm happy to hear that. Seattle is a beautiful city... when it's not raining. Any place you want to go or if you need ideas just come see me and I can map out a little tour for you. You have a few days to settle in before you start work. I left menus and websites on your counter of food stores to eat out at or to go shopping."
"Wow! You really thought of everything." I said walking through my front door. The second the white and light grey kitchen came into view my body froze. This place was top notch and freakin spotless.
"Everything should be in the rooms you labeled the boxes but again anything if you need..."
"I'll call you, but I'm sure I'll be fine. Oh s**t, I don't have any cash. I'll run to the store shortly. I'm so sorry I wasn't expecting all this."
"Oh no worries. How much do you need?" Brandon asked, pulling out a small stack of bills. This man was like Mary Poppins with everything you could ever need in his pockets.
"Oh, uh, I meant to tip you. I never had a concierge before, but I will make myself familiar with your position." I lowered my head embarrassed, but he just laughed at me.
"I'm sorry for laughing Ms. Parker. I'm not allowed to accept tips. Don't worry though, I'm paid well and love my job. Get some rest and come find me when your ready to explore more." He gave me a kind smile then left my apartment.
I let out a sigh then spun around taking in all the beauty of this place. The entry way was light blue and white with an old washed out half moon table. The large flowers on top of it were gorgeous and smelled sweet. I wanted to admire every inch of my new home but my body took me straight to my room.
There was a king size bed already made with light blue satin sheets and white feather down comforter. It was calling my name so I happily kicked off my shoes and sank under the covers. My mind instantly drifted to the beast of a man that ravaged my body all last night.
The way his large hands groped my body, pulling and tugging at my breast. Then his thick fingers penetrating my core and melting my insides. I was exhausted, but the thoughts of last night had my hand creeping under my pants.
What is wrong me? I feel like Liam awoken this primal need to f**k all day. I could barely keep my thoughts out of the gutter and now I'm here, in bed, ready to pass out, yet my fingers are rapidly coaxing a orgasm from me.
"Oh my god!" I screamed, wiggling my legs as heat raced through my stomach. My body released blissfully remembering how hard his body slammed into mine.
The second I finished my body went limp and head fell to the side into a deep sleep. I don't know if last night was a mistake or not, but I knew I would pleasure myself many more nights to the memories of our bodies f*****g each other into oblivion.
———
The next two days I unpacked all my boxes, toured a few local spots known for amazing food, stocked my fridge, and of course called my dad. Becky had left a few messages sounding disappointed that I left without saying goodbye, but I couldn't bring myself to call her back.
Every time I thought of my life in New York I either fell into tears missing my mom or shuddered in fear remembering Darrell trying to force his body on me. I needed a clean break and that meant leaving Becky behind too.
A part me didn't trust her either. She always seemed to play both sides with all the bullshit at work. I didn't have any close friends so maybe I was expecting too much from her, or maybe having a father that had my back even if I murdered someone set my bar too high.
All I knew is that I wanted to be someone else, someone more than who I was back in New York. I wanted a career that I loved, people that supported me, and for once to be happy, not just content. I knew it was probably not going to happen here, but I was going to ride out the good as long as it lasted instead of nervously waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Everyone was nice to me at the apartment complex and in the town that I met. My apartment was actually right on the border of Seattle. It was a small town that seemed to be filled with people that were all like family. It seemed odd, but I was loving it.
Brandon was amazing with helping me feel comfortable as I learned the layout of everything. He even stop by yesterday and helped me unpack for an hour. I tried to stop him, but quickly realized he was not someone that understood the word no... but in a good way.
I just got back from a quaint little cafe only a few minutes walk from my apartment with two bags of food in hand. Brandon had raved about how amazing the food was so I got him a turkey sandwich with a blueberry scone as a thank you for his help.
"God afternoon Melissa. Have you seen Brandon?" I asked the woman at the front desk. She was a petite older lady with dark skin and lushes black hair. Everyone in this town seemed youthful with a strong build to them. Whatever was in their water I hoped I was getting it too.
"Yes, he had a meeting with Jax but he should be finishing up."
My body had a wave of anxiety rush through it. My new boss was here! I didn't know how to feel about this. It seemed a bit too much to work for this guy who also visited where I lived.
"Oh, ok, thanks." I said turning to walk to the elevators.
"Do you want me to let Brandon know you were looking for him?" Melissa shouted as I walked away. I took a deep breath then turned around.
"Yes, please. I just got him a thank you treat for helping me since arriving. I can give it to him later though." I swallowed hard, then let my anxiety go.
I was overreacting about Jax. I can't expect him to be like Darrell. I knew Jax owned this apartment complex and I won't be afraid of my boss, or anyone for that matter.
"No need. I'm here and would happily take my treat." Brandon's voice came from behind me and made me smile. I turned to greet him but my smile fell immediately hearing a disapproving grunt.
I looked next to him at my not so happy future boss. s**t! Maybe I should be afraid of him.
