A Real Beating

Cory POV             As I walked towards the garden shed, I silently prayed it was just a stray dog, but I was seriously doubting it. Suddenly I hear rustling behind me; as I turn a man with a biker style dust mask over the bottom half of his face tries to grab me. I dodge and he tries swinging at my head instead. I notice a bag and zip ties nearby as I maneuver away from him. I guess the good news is they’re supposed to kidnap me, not kill me. I really don’t want to be kidnapped either though.             I dodge another swing and kicked the guy between his legs, causing him to groan and fall to the ground clutching himself in agony. The wolf that had been behind the shed to distract me is now approaching and I quickly shift so Opal can take him on. It isn’t a very fair fight for a wolf to go up against a human so I want to even the odds as best I can.             Opal was happy to be let out, especially for a fight. Wolves are a very primal part of a werewolf and tend to operate on simplicities like; lust, defense, possession, etc. They don’t really care for the complicated thoughts and feelings we have in our human forms and are much more skilled at fighting because of this. Basically, they don’t get bogged down overthinking things and rely on instincts more than anything else.             She charged the large, dark brown wolf as I watch from the backseat of our shared conscious. He dodged and slashed Opals back with his claws. She grabs his hind leg and begins to shake her head violently, there’s a loud crack as it breaks. The brown wolf grabs onto the back of Opal’s neck and pulls her down to the ground but she quickly jumps up once released from his grip, turning and kicking out at his side but missing as he dodges the attack. They continued to fight for several minutes while I looked on. The brown wolf is clearly more skilled than Opal. Not really a surprise since we had never trained in wolf form.             Opal’s beginning to slow and I know we’re losing. I keep wondering what is going to happen to us once this wolf has us beat and the man, who is now sitting up and watching the fight, ties me up and puts the bag over my head. Where would they take us? What do they want with me?             Opal lunges again at the other wolf but he catches her ribs with a sharp kick, I hear cracking and feel the shooting pain. Opal goes down and is going in and out of consciousness.             “Cory! Cory your dads on the phone!” I here mom yelling from the house but it’s all Opal can do to keep from blacking out now, let alone call out for help.             But then the wolf and man notice something behind us and take off running. Maybe Opal did a better job than I thought. As she sees them running away, she lets herself hit the ground and everything fades to into darkness. ------------             I come to in a hospital room. I hadn’t been in one of these is a very long time. I must be at the pack hospital because it wouldn’t be a good idea to take a werewolf to a human hospital. Our rapid healing would quickly turn us into a test subject for them in no time.             I start to scan the room and notice that I’m only hooked up to a simple saline/electrolyte drip and a monitor for my heart and breathing. Well that’s good, no serious damage. It’s a fairly spacious room with an open door showing a small private bathroom off one corner and one wall is all windows but they’re all dark so it must be night out now. That means I’ve been out for a few hours at least. There’s a couch along the wall opposite my bed and there’s a very large figure sleeping on it. This man is a mountain and his face is turned away from me. There’s a blanket somewhat draped over him, making him more of a mystery. He’s much to tall to be my father or either of my brothers. They aren’t small by any means but they certainly don’t hang off the length of a regular couch like this man is.             Opal decides it’s time for her to come to as well. She instantly gives me a headache with her prancing and cooing.             Glad you feel so good after having your ass handed to you.             I would argue that you don’t let me out to get in any exercise BUT I don’t care right now. Mate is here and you need to introduce us this time, not run.             So, it’s Alpha Lucas on the couch then, clearly Opal knew with her sixth sense or mate sense or whatever. I do need to pee and that means I need to get someone to help me with the equipment. I could also use food, lots and lots of food. I have clearly missed dinner. My stomach lets out a loud rumble and Alpha Lucas begins to stir. I watch as he rolls onto his back and stretches his arms over his head. His stretching pulls his shirt up a little, exposing his perfect abs. I lick my lips as my mouth suddenly feels parched. He proceeds to sit up and stretch his legs a bit before rubbing his eyes and blinking at me.             He smiles at the sight of me awake and, while Opal wants me to jump into his arms and most likely do unspeakably inappropriate things, I’m still apprehensive about the man who I’ve watched badly beat my father and then banish our family from our lives and pack. I sit on my bed and eye him up.
